Functional Tester / Business Analyst

Description

The role supports a Portfolio Management System in a banking technology setting. For the first year the focus is testing only, so you can build a deep understanding of the application and the systems around it.

Once you show independence and consistently strong testing work, business analysis tasks are added step by step. The planned split is roughly 60% testing and 40% business analysis.

The company is a European digital services firm offering consulting, application services, digital engineering, cloud, cybersecurity, platforms, and infrastructure services.

Responsibilities

• Design, prepare, run, and record functional, regression, integration, and peripheral test cases.
• Keep requirements, specifications, test cases, defects, and results linked to one another.
• Check application changes across the Portfolio Management System and connected systems, including end-to-end flows.
• Review results, reproduce problems, query data with SQL where needed, and drive defects to closure.
• Help shape test strategy and planning, prepare release-readiness reports, and support deployment and post-go-live checks.
• Prepare scenarios and test data for User Acceptance Testing and help business users through it.
• Over time, join requirements workshops and turn business needs into functional specifications, use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Give functional clarification to development and delivery teams.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of business analysis experience, including work in a banking IT environment.
• Functional knowledge of securities, wealth management, and securities and foreign-exchange order management.
• Hands-on functional testing experience: test design, execution, defect management, regression, and end-to-end validation.
• Experience writing functional specifications, use cases, user stories, and testable acceptance criteria.
• SQL skills for data analysis, investigation, and test validation.
• Understanding of the full project lifecycle.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, plus good facilitation and communication.
• Experience working with international, distributed delivery teams.
• English at C1 level.
• Valued but not required: Wealth Management or Private Banking experience.
• Valued but not required: knowledge of Jira and Confluence.
• Valued but not required: basic understanding of CI/CD, Jenkins, and Git.
• Valued but not required: ability to mentor others.
