Freelance Fashion Designer (Speculative)

As a freelance partner, you would help develop concepts, explore new design directions, refine products and bring your own perspective into the collections.

The company is open to designers at any career stage but is especially keen to meet senior creatives, design managers and heads of design. Every product category is in scope: menswear, womenswear and accessories.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts for collections.
• Explore new design directions and push the boundaries of the work.
• Refine products through to completion.
• Shape collections with your own creative vision.

Requirements

• A strong personal style that fits the company's design philosophy.
• Modern, effortless designs that suit the brand and have commercial relevance.
• Silhouette-led designs and inventive construction.
• A good understanding of fabric, technique and considered detail.
• Proven design experience in womenswear, menswear or accessories.
• Experience in contemporary, premium or luxury fashion.
• The ability to translate brand identity into designs that sell.
• A portfolio that shows concept development, research and mood exploration, technical sketches and garment details, and final products or collection outcomes.
• Evidence of your work with materials, textures and sustainable design approaches.
• Confident hand and digital sketching.
• Knowledge of pattern cutting and garment construction.
• Ability to work with 3D and AI design tools.
• Experience working with product development teams or manufacturers.
• Strong organisation and self-management across the whole collection process, including when working remotely.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate professionally.
• Ability to work to briefs, timelines and feedback.
• Flexibility to manage your workflow around the schedules of the in-house team.

Conditions

Freelance work requires spending a significant amount of time at the company's art-deco inspired office and atelier in central London.

Regular commuting to London is essential for any freelance role.
