Senior UX Designer, Consumer (m/f/d)

The company builds sustainable financial services and wants them to fit the people who use them, with human-centred design at the core of that work.

You join an international team of UX designers, UI designers, service designers and UX writers, but work across the organisation and support peers across Europe.

The company is part of a family-owned group, with over 4,000 people, almost 80 nationalities and 11 countries, working in a quick-moving industry that makes flexible payments and simplifies financial management for known brands.

Responsibilities

• You report to the Design Lead, Consumer, and support a consumer team of UX design, service design, research and UX writing that helps users understand and move through the company's services across channels and touchpoints.
• You improve how users interact with the service at every consumer touchpoint, using research, wireframes and prototypes that meet user needs and business goals.
• Gather and analyse the information needed to create and justify a design.
• Turn research insights into end-to-end flows, wireframes and prototypes that test and improve how a product works.
• Check that a design achieves what it was meant to achieve.
• Review user feedback and performance metrics to keep improving the experience.
• Work on the design system, producing high-fidelity designs and UI components.
• Partner with product, tech and your manager so your work stays aligned with business initiatives.
• Speak for customers, build a strong design culture and bring a human-centred mindset to the team.
• You are skilled at user research and turning user needs into intuitive, impactful design solutions.
• You have led end-to-end product design, from early concepts to final implementation, within business goals and technical limits.
• You create wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs in Figma.
• You work well with product managers, engineers and stakeholders to drive innovation and deliver strong user experiences.
• You know interaction design, information architecture and usability best practice, and build clear flows and intuitive interfaces.
• You run usability tests, gather feedback and iterate on designs.
• You communicate and present clearly, explaining design decisions and arguing for user-centred solutions.
• You think strategically and analytically, turning complex user requirements into design approaches and estimates.

• Especially welcome: familiarity with accessibility standards such as WCAG and how to apply them in design.

Conditions

This is a full-time role based in Amsterdam, Berlin or Heerenveen, with flexible working conditions available.

The setup is regionally distributed hybrid, with office attendance expected twice a week.

Occasional travel is needed to meet in person for team huddles or cross-functional workshops.
