Description

The company is working to make energy more reliable, affordable and sustainable, and to deliver the electricity that health, safety, security and quality of life depend on.

The gas power unit of the company builds cleaner, more efficient power for customers today and develops energy technologies for the future.

The role focuses on next-generation control systems for power plants. As the energy sector changes, operators need better ways to interact with and manage plants, and those systems must stay secure and resilient. Emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, offer ways to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

You will work on projects that advance control system technology, improve user experience and strengthen system security. You will see several parts of control system development, from platform work and user interface design to cyber security implementation.

The role affects departmental operations and covers planning and execution. You will have some autonomy, working within an operating discipline governed by standard functional practices and procedures. Some decisions will require judgment, typically with guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and develop technologies for modern control rooms.
  • Help design and develop the controls and HMI platform that keeps power plant operations reliable.
  • Help design and prototype control system interfaces using simulation tools.
  • Help put security controls and best practices in place for operational technology systems.
  • Collect and analyze stakeholder feedback to shape controls and platform design and security improvements.
  • Contribute to documentation, templates and standards that support customer operations.
  • Look for ways to bring advanced technologies into control systems.
  • Assess computing technologies that could enhance control system features built on generative AI.

Requirements

  • Recent graduate holding a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or another STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math).
  • 0-1 year of related experience in engineering or STEM.

Conditions

For U.S.-based positions, the pay range is $72,000.00 to $108,000.00. The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. Actual pay may depend on experience, education and skill set.

A discretionary annual bonus is available.
