The company is a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization. It helps customers use energy more productively, cut carbon emissions, and run operations with the precision and resilience that fast-growing sectors need, including data centers, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, and higher education.

With over 140 years in business, the company combines advanced technology, lifecycle services, and a large field organization to improve customer results.

The company's fire protection and building solutions help customers safeguard people, property, and operations. In this role you will help deliver small-dollar Fire Systems Install projects profitably, supporting each one from early planning through closeout.

You will report generally to the Installation/Operations Manager and/or a Project Manager. The job covers coordinating delivery, supporting early planning, and keeping assigned work on schedule. It blends field leadership, customer coordination, financial control, document management, and safety oversight so projects finish accurately, on time, on budget, and within scope.

Responsibilities

  • Help run assigned small-dollar Fire Systems Install projects for business customers at a profit.
  • Work with Operations Leadership and other teams in early planning on strategy, vendor and partner selection, scope improvements, value engineering, and risk review.
  • Direct the work of Engineers, Designers, Technicians, Project Coordinators, Estimators, and Subcontractors so execution matches the contract.
  • Handle scope, costs, resources, schedules, risks, billing, and collections to keep cash flow positive and delivery on time.
  • Pursue change orders and new work whenever client instructions, field directives, or schedule changes alter the contracted scope.
  • Read contract terms, prepare cost estimates and proposals, and help secure customer sign-off when needed.
  • Manage project document control, construction compliance, and material orders against specifications, local codes, installation methods, and JCI standards.
  • Submit plan checks to Authorities Having Jurisdiction, track their approvals, and obtain permits quickly once approved.
  • Support RFPs, RFIs, subcontracts, and project accounts payable, billing, and collections.
  • Keep good working relationships with customers, consultants, prime contractors, and subcontractors, and take part in progress meetings and issue resolution.
  • Keep safety, ethics, scope, schedule, cost, and quality in line on every project.
  • Review field conditions, contract changes, and customer instructions early, and clear obstacles before they hurt delivery.
  • Use clear project controls, financial tracking, and recovery plans to catch risks early.
  • Coordinate closely with Operations, Engineering, Design, subcontractors, vendors, and customers to keep work moving.
  • Share progress, issues, and financial status quickly and openly with management and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • An associate degree plus equivalent work experience, or at least 5 years of direct field experience in building construction.
  • Working knowledge of project management software and financial accounting systems.
  • Hands-on use of MS Project, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Writer, Visio, and a basic Windows environment.
  • Skill at explaining technical material in speech and writing to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Skill at juggling multiple project priorities, schedules, billing tasks, and customer expectations.
  • Travel may be required depending on project assignment and needs.
  • Knowledge of Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
