Description

The company makes memory and storage products and is preparing a high-volume memory plant in Idaho for production.

This role sits in US expansion planning and works across manufacturing and R&D.

Responsibilities

  • Get the Idaho plant ready for production by working out the capital effects of the processes to be introduced there.
  • Present those capital effects to senior leaders in manufacturing and R&D.
  • Link supply chain, finance, engineering, procurement, production and R&D so cost-saving work gets carried out.
  • Build tools that speed up and sharpen the planning and reporting used to prepare, ramp and run the site.
  • Explain capital changes and recommend actions, drawing on data analysis and an open, learning approach.
  • Improve use of the existing equipment base and lead studies on site-level and tool-level efficiency.
  • Work with partners on future tool and process roadmaps and estimate how process changes affect network capacity.
  • Run financial analyses before new capital equipment is bought, covering metrics, process flexibility, shared capacity and reuse of equipment.
  • Build and maintain tool utilization and capacity planning models so the site's deployed capital is used well.
  • Prepare and track capital change proposals, reporting them in tools such as Tableau and in formal presentations to manufacturing senior leaders.
  • Build and roll out tools that audit manufacturing capital efficiency and find cost reduction opportunities.
  • Share improvement opportunities and implementation plans with every relevant level and function in manufacturing.
  • Use Python, SQL, R, Excel and VBA, alongside newer and established methods, to improve and automate work in the planning system and models.

Requirements

  • Hold a Master's degree in Management Information Systems, Engineering Management or a related field, or a Bachelor's in one of those fields plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Have experience developing models for production and centralized planning.
  • Have experience optimizing deployed and projected capital.
  • Have experience evaluating capital projects.
  • Have experience building web-based reporting metrics with Tableau and Python, including cash flow, payback and ROI analysis.
  • Have experience with linear and nonlinear optimization.
  • Have experience using statistics to choose and improve key performance indicators.
