Description

The company aims to refresh the world and make a difference through well-loved brands, pursued sustainably for a better shared future. As a global beverage leader, it offers the chance to contribute to something with real positive reach.

The North America Operating Unit's Advanced Hydration division, a fast-moving business unit, is working to define what comes next in hydration. Its brands span sports drinks, sports and electrolyte drinks, and enhanced waters. The team values entrepreneurial thinking, close collaboration, and a shared drive to succeed, and it suits people who think differently, act quickly, question the usual approach, and operate well in a category that keeps changing.

The company is hiring a Director, Shopper Marketing Strategy for the Advanced Hydration category. You will build shopper marketing strategies for key retail customers that deliver results and build lasting relationships with advanced hydration shoppers. You will shape the brand marketing goals across every stage of the path to purchase and the consumer journey, and influence how shoppers buy through top customers, their shopper segments, and company-wide initiatives. You will need a deep, intuitive grasp of shopper behavior, insight, and trends, plus strong fluency in several retail media platforms and solid campaign experience. You will sit on the core customer team and work with Sales, Corporate Marketing, Field Marketing, and Commercial teams to build strategies and tools that drive results and create a memorable shopper experience and loyalty to the brands.

The company's 130+ years of history reflect a culture built around four behaviors: curious, empowered, inclusive, and agile. Growth and continuous learning matter here, and how work gets done counts as much as the outcome.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the marketing lead and main counterpart to your assigned customer team and retailer, building shopper marketing plans that meet or exceed retailer business goals.
  • Work with the Customer Marketing VP, the Director of Shopper Strategy, and the Category Management department to set the core retailer marketing strategy and carry out and refine its tactics so sales and marketing goals are met.
  • Design and run comprehensive annual shopper marketing plans for the U.S. domestic market that support channel, retailer, and brand marketing objectives.
  • Own every retailer shopper marketing program from start to finish, covering initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control, analysis, and reporting.
  • Maintain a detailed calendar-based marketing plan by trimester, setting out objectives, KPIs, strategies, and programs, with tactical detail and itemized budget lines.
  • Directly oversee a working budget of more than $4M, including real-time transaction tracking, optimization, invoice processing, and monthly reconciliation and review.
  • Manage the media agency directly, pressing for performance updates, real-time optimization, and campaigns that perform well.
  • Serve as the company's subject matter expert on your channels, retailers, shopper segments, insights, trends, competitive landscape, and brand sales and marketing performance. Coach and train relevant teams on retailer marketing policies, IP usage, style guides, media capabilities and guardrails, and marketing strategy, and make sure all Advanced Hydration entities follow these policies.
  • Build genuine relationships with key retailer contacts and stakeholders to create synergy, find new opportunities that speed up business goals, and develop fresh programs and tactics to activate at top customers.
  • Lead joint planning for all key customer programs with Corporate Marketing, Field Marketing, and Commercial teams. Work through strategic changes and national, divisional, and regional opportunities, which differ by geography, to deliver strong results against retailer and business goals.
  • Make sure shopper programs and tactics run smoothly inside the company and with outside partners. Communicate clearly in speech and writing, prepare strong presentations, and provide top-tier toolkits so field teams can activate effectively.
  • Handle all shopper marketing communication with internal and external stakeholders, including Corporate Marketing, Commercialization, Field and Sales Marketing, retailer contacts, and Executive Leadership, so every relevant team has the information and support it needs.
  • Own real-time marketing and shopper metric performance audits and full post-program analysis for all programming. Produce a report covering insights, learnings, best practices, and optimizations that can improve retailer growth and the shopper marketing and brand strategy over time.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • At least 7 years of experience in shopper marketing or a related marketing discipline is required.

  • Professional-level proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • The role requires travel as needed, about 25%, by car and plane, across local and neighboring territories.
  • You must hold and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to drive long distances.
  • Your motor vehicle record must meet company standards under the Driving Policy.
  • The company will not sponsor employment status, including H-1B and other employment-based nonimmigrant visas, for this role. You must already be authorized to work in the United States full time and must not need company sponsorship to keep working legally in the country.
