Description

The company delivers customer data into warehouses in a clean, query-ready form, with no engineering work or upkeep needed.

The company is valued at over $5.6 billion.

This Principal role sits where growth strategy, investment planning and performance analytics meet.

You will work with the office of the CMO, marketing leaders and cross-functional analytics teams to decide where to invest, how to lift performance and what it takes to hit growth goals.

You turn business goals and performance findings into priorities, resource choices and coordinated work across Marketing. The work includes shaping pipeline strategy, weighing investment tradeoffs and finding ways to lift conversion, velocity and efficiency across regions, segments and growth motions.

This is a highly visible leadership role during a major organizational change.

The ideal person brings order to unclear situations, challenges assumptions with solid business judgment and carries decisions through to measurable outcomes.

You will work closely with marketing leaders, Finance, GTM Operations, Technical Marketing Ops and Central Analytics to link strategy, investment and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Turn company growth targets into marketing plans that set priorities, investment needs and performance assumptions.
  • Lead the analysis behind annual and quarterly planning, building scenarios that weigh growth options, resource needs and tradeoffs.
  • Own marketing's pipeline planning models and their assumptions, pulling inputs together across regions, segments, channels and motions.
  • Find the highest-impact ways to improve pipeline generation, conversion and velocity, and work with functional leaders to act on them.
  • Recommend how to distribute resources across programs, channels, regions and segments according to expected business impact.
  • Weigh headcount against program spend with Finance and marketing leaders to raise resource productivity.
  • Decide where to scale, cut or shift spend, and measure whether those choices improve pipeline yield and efficiency.
  • Build models that link marketing investment to pipeline and revenue, stating assumptions and uncertainty clearly.
  • Run weekly and monthly marketing performance reviews that keep leaders focused on the decisions needed to hit targets.
  • Spot performance risks early, find root causes, and agree corrective actions, owners and timelines with leaders.
  • Track actions, assess their effect and change course when results lag.
  • Lead cross-functional work across Marketing, XDR, Sales, Finance and Analytics, clearing dependencies and escalating decisions when required.
  • Set the strategic analysis agenda around the questions that matter most for marketing growth and efficiency.
  • Define the metrics, scorecards and decision tools marketing leaders use to manage performance.
  • Work with Analytics on scalable reporting and with Marketing Ops on consistent definitions, reliable tracking and data quality.
  • Turn complex analysis into executive narratives covering what is happening, why it matters and what to do next.

Requirements

  • Have 8+ years in marketing strategy, GTM analytics or business performance at B2B SaaS companies, with scope at director level.
  • Have a track record of shaping investment decisions and producing measurable gains in pipeline, conversion or marketing efficiency.
  • Have built growth plans, pipeline models, investment scenarios and performance assumptions.
  • Show strong business judgment and a clear point of view, challenge senior stakeholders constructively and build alignment on hard tradeoffs.
  • Have led cross-functional initiatives and carried recommendations through to execution and results.
  • Can structure open-ended problems on your own and balance speed with analytical rigor.
  • Understand B2B SaaS metrics well, including pipeline, ARR, conversion, velocity, acquisition cost and attribution.
  • Are fluent in SQL and BI tools such as Looker, able to investigate independently and partner well with Analytics.
  • Have working knowledge of Salesforce and marketing automation platforms such as Marketo.
  • Communicate clearly with executives and link detailed analysis to business decisions.
  • Bonus: experience getting through a merger, organizational integration or major GTM transformation.
  • Bonus: experience with experiment design, incrementality measurement, predictive modeling or cohort analysis.
  • Bonus: familiarity with the modern data stack, including the company, dbt, Snowflake and Looker.
  • Bonus: background in data infrastructure, developer tools or analytics software.
