Description

The company is hiring a Digital Mergers & Acquisitions Lead for its Digital & Information Management team in North America, based in Herndon, VA.

This is the lead North American role for digital M&A. It covers pre-deal IS/IT strategy, technical due diligence, architecture planning and deal governance, along with post-deal execution across North American legal entities.

You work between operational teams and executive leadership, shaping early digital evaluation and integration strategy that fits global company standards and deals worth millions of dollars.

You sit in the DM for Digital Corporate & Analytics group, working closely with the European DMTM Digital for M&A team and reporting operationally to it. You link site leads, European M&A leads, outside advisors, and executive vice presidents and steering committees on cross-border transactions.

Herndon is a technology and aerospace hub just outside Washington, D.C., in Northern Virginia. It is a few minutes from Washington Dulles International Airport, has strong school districts, and offers access to the capital region's culture and dining, plus the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah Valley.

Responsibilities

  • Lead pre-deal IT due diligence and risk reviews, including technical due diligence, target architecture assessment, cybersecurity risk, and legacy technical debt, for M&A, joint ventures and divestitures in North America.
  • Produce early-phase global solution designs, technical requirements and architecture models for IT products. Work with Enterprise Architecture teams to build integration roadmaps that reach Day 1 readiness.
  • Manage deal finances: IT valuation support, pre-deal budget modeling, synergy estimates, TSA cost scoping, and advisory and consultancy spend governance.
  • Direct post-merger integration and corporate separation across the US and Canada, covering software cutovers, cloud migrations, data governance, and Day 1 and Day 2 stabilization to global standards.
  • After close, align customer support, aftermarket and client service portals to keep operations running for commercial and defense customers.
  • Work with European HQ in Toulouse and Hamburg and with steering committees to capture post-deal lessons, improve the global Digital M&A Playbook and keep the US and Europe aligned.
  • Act as the operational link between North American site leaders, IM pillars and Executive Vice Presidents, securing buy-in through each deal handoff.
  • Lead high-level influencing and negotiation conversations with European M&A leads, executive steering committees (EVPs and C-suite), external advisors, and key commercial and defense customer representatives.
  • Directly oversee multi-million-dollar annual Digital M&A budgets, TSA financial tracking and consultancy spend, with strategic influence on group growth across North America.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, business administration or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive IS/IT project or program management, leading IT workstreams in M&A, PMI, restructurings, carve-outs or company creation across international, multi-entity setups.
  • Experience managing multi-million-dollar program budgets, vendor contracts and TSA financial structures.
  • Broad technical knowledge of enterprise application suites, AWS and Azure cloud environments, data migration tools, and Agile and Waterfall delivery.
  • Substantial exposure to customer-facing systems, customer support and services operations, and client relationship issues during integration.
  • Excellent executive presentation, negotiation and cross-cultural communication skills in English, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across multiple time zones.
  • Preferred: a master's degree or MBA.
  • Preferred: PMP, PMI-ACP or TOGAF certification, which is strongly preferred.
  • Preferred: aerospace or defense experience, a customer support and services background, or familiarity with the company's Information Management ecosystem, which is an asset.
  • Preferred: working proficiency in French, Spanish or German, which is a plus.

Conditions

Hybrid or remote working arrangements apply, depending on the role.

Work in an office or hybrid setting using computers, monitors and standard office equipment for long periods.

Daily requirements: see screens and electronic equipment, hear and speak in person and on teleconferences, deliver executive presentations and lead meetings, and sit for long meetings and computer work.

Stand for discussions in offices several times a week.

Travel of up to 30, 40% across North America (US and Canada) and to Toulouse, France and Hamburg, Germany, depending on deal milestones, with international trips possible at short notice.

You must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship. Security clearance is not required.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and provides reasonable accommodations to applicants with disabilities.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary, incentive pay that may include profit-sharing, a retirement savings plan with company match, and the chance to join the company's Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
  • Generous paid time off, including personal time and company holidays, flexible working arrangements, and a comprehensive paid parental leave program.
  • Insurance from day one: medical (traditional and high-deductible), prescription, dental, vision, life, disability, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and supplemental health plans.
