Description

The Glide Phase Interceptor flight software team is hiring an early- to mid-career engineer to strengthen the software factory that supports flight software, algorithms, and modeling and simulation work.

The role is based in Chandler, Arizona, and is fully on site, with no telecommuting.

The position can be filled at Level 2 or Level 3.

The company's Space Sector builds systems that affect lives worldwide, and the team works on mission-critical capabilities where engineering workflows need to be dependable.

Interim Secret clearance is required to start, and final clearances and program access must be obtained within a reasonable period set by the company.

Relocation assistance may be available.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve GitLab repositories, branching workflows, integrations, CI/CD pipelines, automated tests, and software-factory operations.
  • Build, configure, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot containerized development and execution environments using Podman, OCI-compatible images, and Visual Studio Code development containers.
  • Write container definitions, build scripts, base images, and reusable development environments, and own the repeatable processes for building, releasing, updating, distributing, and retiring container images.
  • Manage software packages, dependencies, repositories, version compatibility, and configuration baselines across Linux-based and containerized development, test, and execution environments.
  • Automate builds, tests, code review, deployment, vulnerability scanning, metrics collection, and software-factory tasks to cut manual work and make results repeatable.
  • Diagnose and fix complex build, test, deployment, environment, container, package, and large-scale runset problems, including root-cause analysis across GitLab pipelines, development environments, and C++ and Python applications.
  • Track software-factory reliability, performance, utilization, and health, find recurring failure patterns, and put lasting fixes in place.
  • Support large-scale software testing and execution, including high-performance computing scripts, workflows, resource use, job execution, and performance tuning where relevant.
  • Work with flight software, algorithms, modeling and simulation, cybersecurity, test, performance, and infrastructure teams to resolve cross-functional problems and improve workflows.
  • Write and maintain troubleshooting guides, release notes, tool configurations, operational documentation, and reusable development practices.
  • Help teams tell infrastructure faults apart from software, model, or flight-dynamics defects.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • For Level 2: a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field with 2 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree in a related STEM field with 1 year of professional experience. Up to 4 years of additional experience may be considered in place of a degree.
