Description

The team builds next-generation radar and air superiority platforms, moving work from development through to production.

The role centres on target tracking and sensor fusion for advanced multi-function RF subsystems, including analysis of long-range search and track radar waveforms and electronic surveillance measurements.

The company has about 90,000 employees across all 50 states and more than 27 countries.

Principal systems engineers define sensor requirements and validate use cases using parametric models, visualisations and data-driven analysis.

Work spans digital simulation environments, sensor labs and the company's on-site fleet of modified test aircraft, and includes working with customers to balance functional and performance requirements alongside other sensor functions.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a core individual contributor who keeps established algorithms and systems performing well, with minor adaptations where needed.
  • Carry out technical tasks under general supervision, maintaining existing functions and making incremental improvements within clearly set limits.
  • Confirm that current systems meet performance targets by working from existing documentation, such as Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Apply foundational MATLAB and C++ skills to basic analysis and code changes.
  • Support the integration of sensor modes and trackers across simulation, lab and flight test stages.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree plus 8 years of experience, a master's degree plus 6 years, or a Ph.D. plus 4 years, in science, technology, engineering, mathematics or a related technical field. An additional 4 years of experience may be considered in place of a degree.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • An active Secret clearance issued by the U.S. government.
  • The ability to obtain Special Program Access before your start date.
  • Experience with multi-target tracking, adaptive processing or sensor fusion algorithms.
  • Experience with MATLAB or an equivalent programming or analysis language.
  • Experience with RF signal processing or RF applications.
  • Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes, and strong communication skills.
  • Preferred: an active U.S. government Top Secret clearance.
  • Preferred: a master's degree or Ph.D. in a STEM discipline, including electives in radar techniques and signal processing.
  • Preferred: prior approval for special access programs.

Conditions

Up to 100% on-site work.

Travel of about 10% of the time.

Relocation assistance may be available.

Secret clearance is required before start.

Your start is contingent on transferring an active U.S. government Secret clearance and being able to obtain Special Program Access beforehand.

The base salary range is $135,800.00 to $203,600.00. This is a general guideline, and final offers depend on the role's scope and responsibilities, plus the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

The application window is estimated at 20 days from the posting date, but it may be shortened or extended based on business needs and candidate availability.

The company values diversity and inclusion.

Benefits

  • A comprehensive benefits package that lets you choose the options that suit you and your family.
  • Health plan, savings plan and paid time off.
  • Education assistance, training and development, and a 9/80 work schedule where available.
  • Depending on the role, possible eligibility for overtime, shift differential and a discretionary annual bonus.
  • Long-term incentives may be available for Vice President and Director roles.
