Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Linux)

Description

The company is looking for a senior infrastructure engineer to work on its French project. You will help run operational services for the OSS environment of a large international telecom operator.

The company is one of Europe's largest technology firms, working on consulting, digital services and software development in nearly 30 countries with over 55,000 people. Its Polish branch operates as a Global Delivery Center in Katowice, has existed since 2007 and has around 1,000 specialists.

Tech stack: Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL); DNS, routing, firewall configuration and syslog servers; VMware vSphere; Ansible and shell scripting; GitLab CI/CD; Bash and Python.

Responsibilities

• Administer Linux servers running Ubuntu and RHEL.
• Install, maintain and update infrastructure-level software and services.
• Keep server-to-network communication working across DNS, routing, firewalls and syslog.
• Automate tasks with Ansible, Bash and Python.
• Maintain VMware-based virtualized environments.
• Resolve incidents and help improve performance.
• Take part in knowledge transfer and supervised work, building your independence over time.
• Supply source code and support its compilation, installation and configuration on the new platform.
• Help with the production rollout and confirm correct behaviour through functional testing in the new environment.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of general experience in IT roles.
• Practical, hands-on skill in administering Linux systems, with strong command of Linux.
• Practical DevOps experience.
• Working knowledge of Ansible and GitLab.
• Fluent English at B2/C1 level.
• Available for a 5-month project starting in November.
• Willing to visit the office in Katowice or Gdańsk.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Able to document processes and pass on knowledge well.
• Able to work effectively with distributed technical teams.
• Experience with PHP development and scripting.
• Knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB databases.
• French is a strong advantage, depending on the activities.
• Experience with network configuration: TACACS and RANCID.
• Experience with Perl.
• Experience with AI.
• Experience with Python.
• Experience with web services.

Conditions

Cooperation is offered for 5 months and only to candidates based in Poland.

The role runs on a three-shift schedule: 08:00-16:00, 09:00-17:00 or 10:00-18:00.

The project is scheduled to start on November 1, 2026.

The salary range and its additional components are shared during the first recruitment stage.
