Devops Engineer

The company is a Belgian team of over 600 tech specialists working mainly on international projects for the European Institutions, with a focus on large-scale digital services that reach millions of citizens.

This DevOps Engineer role covers build, release and environment work across delivery pipelines, with a hybrid working model.

Our DevOps team is part of a group of more than 8,900 professionals across Europe who build digital solutions for EU institutions and public and private organisations.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain and keep improving CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate builds, tests and deployments across environments.
• Look after the development, acceptance, training and production environments.
• Provision environments consistently and repeatably with Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Work with containerised applications and orchestration platforms.
• Set up and run monitoring, logging and alerting.
• Build security and quality checks into the CI/CD pipelines.
• Handle releases, deployments, configuration changes and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with developers and operations throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
• Help resolve incidents, carry out root-cause analysis and keep environments stable.

Requirements

• A university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a closely related technical field.
• At least 6 years of relevant professional experience in DevOps, CI/CD, software delivery or a similar technical role.
• Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or equivalent.
• Practical experience with Git, Docker and containerised applications.
• Experience with Kubernetes or another container orchestration platform.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible or similar.
• Good knowledge of Linux, cloud platforms and monitoring and logging tools, plus scripting in Bash, Python, PowerShell or similar.
• Experience embedding security and quality controls in CI/CD pipelines and supporting deployments across several environments.
• Strong English communication skills and the ability to work well with development, operations and other technical teams.
