Project Manager

Description

The company works on large-scale digital projects for the European Institutions and other public and private organisations, with over 8,900 staff across Europe.

The Belgium team has more than 600 people and works mainly on international projects for the European Institutions market.

The role is a Project Manager position in Belgium, with the team described as working alongside experienced professionals on large projects that affect millions of citizens.

Responsibilities

• Run projects from start to finish, keeping them aligned with business needs and the agreed scope, budget, timeline and quality standards.
• Organise the rollout of solutions, covering infrastructure, systems, products and services, and make sure the right people and resources are in place.
• Set up project plans, objectives, deliverables, milestones and resource needs, then track progress against them.
• Control project budgets, timelines and resources, spot any drift from targets and take corrective action when needed.
• Handle risks, issues, dependencies and change control, and make sure scope or plan changes are reviewed and approved by the relevant stakeholders.
• Write and keep up project documents such as plans, quality plans, status reports and risk assessments, and give regular progress updates.
• Lead project teams and stakeholders, run working groups and progress meetings, and keep communication clear throughout the project.
• Use suitable project management methods and standards, including Agile where it fits, to deliver well and keep improving how work is done.

Requirements

• A university degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field, plus at least 6 years of relevant professional experience.
• Solid knowledge of project management methods, standards and best practice, and experience taking projects from start to delivery.
• Experience with planning, resource allocation, budget management, risk assessment, quality control and progress reporting.
• A good grasp of technical project environments such as infrastructure, IT systems, products or services.
• Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to juggle competing priorities and hit deadlines.
• Excellent spoken and written communication, including writing reports, giving presentations and talking with a range of stakeholders.
• Strong skills in managing stakeholders and relationships, coordinating teams and encouraging collaboration.
• Experience with project management tools and, where relevant, business modelling techniques such as UML and BPMN.
• Excellent English. Knowledge of French is an advantage.
• You must hold at least one of these certifications: PRINCE2 Foundation, PRINCE2 Practitioner, COBIT certification or relevant COBIT training, PMI certification such as PMP, PgMP, or PM² certification such as Foundation, Practitioner or Agile.
