Infrastructure Engineer

The company builds AI voice agents that handle real phone conversations with customers for businesses, covering support, order intake, and lead qualification.

Revenue is growing quickly, and the company has raised $14M from investors including Y Combinator and several well-known operators in tech.

The team has more than 20 people and is scaling quickly. The founders previously led software teams at Y Combinator and built products for its founders.

This role focuses on the platform that runs live voice conversations, where latency is easy to notice, calls keep state, and deployments must not disrupt customers.

You will work directly with the founders and engineers to make the platform reliable, scalable, and easy to build on, with real ownership over infrastructure design and how software ships.

Responsibilities

• Build and run AWS infrastructure with Terraform and Kubernetes, including EKS clusters, networking, IAM, load balancing, and secrets management.
• Create reusable infrastructure modules and keep development, staging, and production environments consistent.
• Build deployment pipelines with automated checks, clear visibility into releases, and dependable rollbacks.
• Design autoscaling and graceful shutdown behavior for services that handle long voice conversations.
• Improve monitoring across infrastructure and applications, with useful dashboards, alerts you can act on, and clear reliability and latency metrics.
• Investigate production problems, strengthen incident response, and fix recurring issues at their root.
• Work with application and AI engineers to deploy new services, improve performance, and control infrastructure costs.
• Help engineers provision resources, ship changes, and debug their services safely.

Requirements

• You have 4+ years of experience.
• You have run Kubernetes and AWS systems in production.
• You have strong Terraform skills, including maintainable modules, state handling, and safe changes to infrastructure.
• You have a solid grasp of Linux, containers, networking, and distributed systems.
• You have built CI/CD pipelines and kept services running through deployments, incidents, and growth.
• You can write software and automation in Python, Go, or TypeScript.
• You know when to add new infrastructure and when to keep things simple.
• You take ownership, communicate clearly, and see problems through to a lasting fix.
• You have experience with Argo CD, Helm, or other GitOps tools.
• You are familiar with real-time audio, SIP, WebRTC, or other latency-sensitive systems.
• You have operated PostgreSQL, Redis, queues, and background workers.
• You have deployed GPU workloads or self-hosted AI inference.
• You are familiar with infrastructure security and supporting SOC 2 requirements.
• Experience: any level, new grads welcome.
