Senior DevOps Engineer

Description

The role covers design, automation and governance of the software delivery lifecycle for containerized applications running on OpenShift, bringing together CI/CD, DevSecOps, platform automation, observability and release governance so that enterprise applications ship securely, reliably and in line with compliance rules.

The main client is BOSA. Other assignments may also come up, worked on closely with the DevOps team at the company Belgium.

You will work alongside development teams, architects, security specialists and operations teams to industrialize delivery and keep improving the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab CI/CD or Jenkins that automate building, testing, quality checks, security scanning and deployment.
• Set up release governance and deployment approval workflows, and maintain reusable pipeline templates.
• Support application lifecycle and release management.
• Support the deployment and running of applications on OpenShift, working with Helm charts and container configurations.
• Help improve application scalability, resilience and resource use.
• Build security controls into delivery pipelines and contribute to vulnerability and dependency management.
• Make software releases traceable and reproducible.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, dashboards and observability solutions, and support incident analysis and root cause investigations.

Requirements

• Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker and Helm.
• Experience with Jenkins and/or GitLab CI/CD, Git, Bitbucket or GitLab, and Argo CD.
• DevSecOps experience with SonarQube, Snyk or similar tools, vulnerability and dependency management, and secrets management.
• Experience with Nexus or JFrog Artifactory.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry and centralized logging.
• Knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservices.
• Experience with Jira, release management, automated testing and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You can work autonomously and coach development teams and junior DevOps colleagues.
• English and French or Dutch are mandatory. Knowledge of the second national language is an asset.
• Experience with HashiCorp Vault, Apache Kafka, the ELK Stack, Camunda BPMN, Renovate, Dependabot or public-sector environments is an advantage.
