Description

You will build and run the data foundations for the Commercial BI team, so the department can make decisions based on data.

You will help shape the team's data strategy and work with other departments to keep a scalable, consistent data base.

The role is permanent and based in Munich.

The company is an e-commerce business for home and living, active in more than 20 European countries, with a gross merchandise volume of EUR 507 million in 2025.

It sells its own curated collection alongside third-party design brands, through an online shop, daily deals, physical stores, a B2B service and a design service.

Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Munich, the company has been listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since October 2018.

The team is a diverse group of professionals working at a quick pace in an international, informal setting.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain dbt data products for the Commercial domain, bringing sources such as PIM, ERP and pricing systems into marts ready for consumers.
  • Model core commercial entities (products, prices, suppliers, stock, margins) so that product and price data agrees across the company.
  • Create semantic views and a semantic layer, for example with dbt Semantic Layer or Snowflake semantic views, with clear metric definitions so AI models and agents can query the data accurately.
  • Write data contracts and set model ownership and versioning so other domains can depend on Commercial data.
  • Keep data high quality and on time using dbt tests, freshness checks and monitoring against clear SLAs.
  • Set and enforce analytics engineering practices such as code review, CI/CD and modelling standards, in line with company-wide data mesh governance.

Requirements

  • You have 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer or in a similar role.
  • You work hands-on with dbt and write strong SQL, ideally on Snowflake.
  • You know data modelling well, including dimensional, Kimball and layered architectures, along with data mesh principles and semantic layers.
  • You have worked with orchestration tools such as Airflow or dbt Cloud jobs, with Git and CI/CD, and you write good Python.
  • You think like a product person and stay calm with a quick pace.
  • You speak fluent English and bring a can-do attitude.
  • Plus: experience with dbt Cloud or dbt Mesh.
  • Strong plus: experience with commercial data (PIM, pricing, assortment, supplier data) or with preparing data for AI/LLM use cases.

Conditions

Permanent position based in Munich.

Four office days per week, Monday to Thursday.

Up to 4 weeks per year can be spent working from anywhere.

The company welcomes applicants regardless of background and treats everyone equally.

Benefits

  • A high-performance culture built on trust, feedback and collaboration.
  • An international environment where you can think big, take ownership and grow beyond your comfort zone.
  • 30 days of paid holiday.
  • Discounts of 40% on the company's own collection and 20% on third-party brands, each on non-reduced items, plus a 20% Family & Friends discount on the own collection and special-occasion vouchers.
  • Mental health resources, sports memberships and preventive care.
  • Discounted public transport and JobRad bike leasing.
  • An on-site daycare and a partnership with a multilingual childcare provider for working parents.
  • One Social Impact Day each year to volunteer for a cause you care about.
  • A central, dog-friendly office with a sunny terrace and good food.
  • Team events such as movie nights, Oktoberfest and summer and winter parties.
