The company's wider aim is to help clients run smarter today while adapting to the markets, customers and communities of tomorrow.

Responsibilities

  • You will lead the technical team by reviewing designs, solving hard problems and making sure daily decisions fit the overall architecture.
  • You will run workshops, design sessions and architecture reviews with stakeholders and act as a trusted technical advisor to clients.
  • You will support pre-sales and proposals by scoping technical work, checking estimates and supplying the technical content for bids.
  • You will stay hands-on with code, Databricks or your preferred cloud platform so your designs hold up in practice.
  • You will apply agile, DevOps and DataOps methods and base architectural choices on lakehouse concepts, data mesh, governance and security.
  • You will mentor engineers, share knowledge and raise the technical standard across projects and the wider data engineering practice.

Requirements

  • You have designed and delivered data platforms on real customer projects and understand the practical trade-offs and realities of production.
  • You can break down unclear problems, facilitate workshops and turn business needs into clear technical direction.
  • You have hands-on experience with Azure and/or AWS, lakehouse architectures, distributed processing, data modelling, containerisation and data governance.
  • You take responsibility for technical direction, make well-reasoned decisions and explain your reasoning clearly.
  • You care about clean, maintainable systems that stay understandable and easy to extend.
  • You can explain technical decisions to engineers and business outcomes to stakeholders in both German and English.
  • You hold a degree in Computer Science or a comparable technical field.
  • Experience with Databricks (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, MLflow) is a strong plus.

Conditions

You can work flexible hours and, depending on client needs, work from home up to three days per week.

The company values a safe and healthy workplace.

The company welcomes applicants from all backgrounds regardless of gender, personality, national origin, race, religion, colour, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, marital status, disability or veteran status.
