Description

The team sits in the A320 Family Quality Customer Line, a transnational group working where the aircraft meets the global customer interface across Hamburg, Toulouse, Mobile and Tianjin.

The role is a working student position for a Master's student, 15 to 18 hours per week, focused on data engineering, interactive dashboards and AI-supported tools for aerospace quality work.

The position is based at the Finkenwerder plant, the largest civil aircraft production site in Hamburg, and runs for 12 months from 15 January 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Build interactive Skywise applications (Workshop, Slate, Contour) and the backend data models behind them.
  • Act as the team's data guardian by writing and keeping up clear documentation of the data architecture and analytics setup.
  • Find process improvements and turn them into automated reports and tools using Skywise, Google Workspace and AI-assisted features.
  • Check whether requested features can be supported by available data and by Skywise, and help the team rank them in its roadmap.
  • Give live demos of working Skywise tools in management reviews and collect user feedback to improve usability.
  • Organise pre-release trial runs and give hands-on training to get teams at the global sites using the tools.

Requirements

  • Be currently enrolled full time as a Master's student in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science, Data Engineering or a closely related technical field.
  • Speak English at C1 level or higher; German and/or French is an advantage.
  • Have practical programming experience in SQL, Python and Apps Script, and an interest in data modelling and AI-assisted tools such as prompt engineering.
  • Be familiar with Google Workspace tools for reporting and digital workflows.
  • Experience with Skywise or Palantir Foundry, or with related modules such as Contour, Workshop, Slate or SQL data modelling, is a strong advantage.
  • Work proactively and in a structured way, help end users, and solve real stakeholder problems.
  • Communicate well, think critically, and pay close attention to data quality.
  • Submit a cover letter, CV, relevant certificates and a current certificate of enrolment, all in English.

Conditions

Working hours are 15 to 18 hours per week with flexitime.

The role is based on site at the Finkenwerder plant in Hamburg, reachable by ferry from Teufelsbrück or by ferry and bike from the ferry landing.

Pay is at least €18.53 per hour under the collective agreement, depending on the job, and includes special payments such as holiday pay.

Working students must be enrolled at a university or other higher education institution, and during term time may not work more than 20 hours per week; the role is not an internship or a thesis placement.

The company welcomes applications regardless of background, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation or religion. The company will never ask for payment during recruitment.

Benefits

  • Competitive pay and work-life balance through flexitime.
  • An international setting with chances to build a global network.
  • Work with modern and varied technologies.
  • Access to the Generation the company Community to grow your professional network.
