Description

The team is a multidisciplinary group where data engineering, architecture, AI, analytics, governance and visualisation work together. The company helps clients get more value from their data, from building the data foundations on modern platforms to delivering AI applications, dashboards and analytics solutions.

The role sits in the Data Foundation practice, a team of data engineers and architects inside the Data & AI department. The practice makes sure AI and BI initiatives run on a reliable, performant back end, using proven components and best practices to design solutions that fit each client's data needs in terms of performance, scalability and maintainability.

You will design and oversee modern data platforms that support end-to-end data solutions and self-service use. Working closely with BI consultants, AI engineers and client stakeholders, you will turn business and analytics requirements into scalable, future-proof data architectures. Most of the work is cloud-based, using platforms such as MS Fabric, Databricks and Snowflake.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable modern data platforms, with a focus on cloud technologies such as Databricks and MS Fabric.
  • Define target architectures, platform standards and strategic roadmaps that support business goals and data transformation programmes.
  • Review existing data architectures, find areas to improve, and propose improvements and migration options.
  • Serve as a trusted subject matter expert and advisor to clients and internal teams.
  • Support pre-sales work, lead workshops, draft proposals and share your knowledge with colleagues.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience, preferably in consulting, including 3+ years as a data architect.
  • Proven expertise in data engineering and cloud technologies and concepts, such as lakehouse, warehouse, ETL/ELT, orchestration, CI/CD, SQL, Delta Lake and OneLake.
  • Ability to turn business needs into effective solutions.
  • Strong understanding of modern data architectures, data modelling and integration patterns.
  • Experience migrating data platforms, for example from on-premises to cloud.
  • Knowledge of governance, security, data management and networking principles.
  • Strong skills in stakeholder management, workshop facilitation and consulting.
  • Cloud certifications are a plus.
  • Proficient in English and either Dutch or French.
  • Motivated, eager to engineer strong solutions for clients, and keen to take an active role in a team of experts. Most of the qualifications listed above should be met.

Conditions

Equal opportunity applies to all candidates.

Benefits

  • Mobility options including a company car, insurance coverage, meal vouchers, eco-cheques and more.
  • Continuous learning through the company Academy.
  • Team events where you can connect with colleagues across the company.
