AI Data Engineer

Description

The company is hiring an AI Data Engineer to build AI-powered applications and agentic solutions that improve internal business processes and client delivery.

The role is mostly hands-on coding and requires solid software engineering, data engineering and AI/ML skills to build scalable enterprise systems.

You will work with architects, product owners, data scientists and engineers on AI features such as LLMs, agentic AI workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and intelligent automation, inside a regulated financial services setting.

Responsibilities

• Design and build intelligent agents, covering their perception, reasoning, planning and action execution modules.
• Design and develop data pipelines that feed AI and machine learning workloads, and make sure data quality, lineage, governance and security requirements are met.
• Plug different machine learning models, such as LLMs, reinforcement learning and predictive models, into agents to improve their capabilities and decisions.
• Build production-grade applications and APIs in Python and/or Java, including reusable services, microservices and AI components.
• Use agentic AI frameworks and development tools, and contribute to them.
• Track progress in AI, especially agent-based and autonomous systems, and propose new solutions.
• Work with AI researchers, data scientists, product managers and software engineers to bring agentic solutions into wider products and services.
• Write thorough technical documentation covering agent designs, implementations and operating procedures.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
• At least 2 years working with AI/ML, generative AI or intelligent automation. Financial services experience is preferred.
• Strong Python and SQL skills. Java is a plus.
• Hands-on work with generative AI and LLM-based applications.
• Working knowledge of prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, vector databases and agentic frameworks.
• Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar frameworks.
• Experience with OpenAI, Azure, Anthropic, Gemini, Bedrock or equivalent platforms.
• Understanding of machine learning fundamentals and model evaluation techniques.
• Experience designing and supporting data pipelines and data integration workflows.
• Strong analytical skills and a creative approach to hard problems.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including explaining complex technical ideas to varied audiences.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Finance domain knowledge is preferred.
• Ability to work with colleagues within and across teams and organizations.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Conditions

Full-time position.

Base salary range is $94,300.00 to $141,500.00 at the primary location.
