Data Warehouse Developer

You will reshape complicated data landscapes into high-impact solutions on intelligent cloud platforms.

The Data Engineering department builds and improves high-performance intra-day data platforms that process large volumes of information. In this role you will improve the enterprise data warehouse and data catalogue, balancing large business programmes with targeted platform work.

The platform runs entirely in the cloud and uses an AI-first approach to development, testing and release, supporting real-time decisions. Architects and developers work closely together to design resilient data models and modern pipelines that give data consumers across the organisation quick value.

The company is an online gambling business operating since 2000, with over 10,000 staff. Its In-Play betting covers more than 1.38 million sporting events a year, with over 750 concurrent fixtures at peak, more live sports streams than any other company in Europe (750,000), over 6 million HTTP requests a day and more than 1.5 million bets per hour at peak.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimise Google Cloud Platform components, including BigQuery, Composer, Analytics Hub and BigLake.
• Build and maintain scalable transform processes that load the central data warehouse.
• Define and put in place sound engineering processes and architecture standards across GCP products.
• Write and keep up clear technical documentation for warehouse assets and pipelines.
• Make sure development standards and good practice are followed at every stage of the engineering lifecycle.

Requirements

• Commercial experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Deep knowledge of Google BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Analytics Hub and BigLake.
• Practical experience with AI technologies and commercial AI agents.
• Proficiency with enterprise data catalogue solutions.
• Skill in relational set-based processing and writing advanced SQL queries.
• Hands-on experience with modern Data Lake and Data Warehouse architectures.
• Experience with dimensional modelling for enterprise data warehouses.
• Ability to solve problems decisively when working to tight deadlines.
