Description

The company runs a multidisciplinary team serving data centre clients across Western Europe, covering hyperscale, colocation and enterprise projects.

This role focuses on the German market and calls for a design manager with a solid background in data centre design management in Germany.

Success means keeping projects on schedule and within budget while meeting the client's recurring deadlines and requirements, which takes sustained involvement.

The post also carries project management duties: you decide the right level and mix of people for each project, and you help price new work so the fees and margins sold are actually delivered.

The company is a global infrastructure consultancy working across water, environment, energy, transport and buildings, and it has about 51,000 staff and $16.1 billion in revenue for fiscal year 2024. It is a Fortune 500 firm.

Responsibilities

  • Manage design work in a demanding project setting across the German market.
  • Lead cross-regional teams covering CSA and MEP disciplines.
  • Support commercial and technical bids on multidisciplinary opportunities with key clients.
  • Make sure internal governance and local regulatory rules are followed, both during bidding and throughout project delivery.

Requirements

  • Senior multidisciplinary design manager with MEP expertise.
  • Experience as the accountable design manager on data centre projects.
  • Fluent in German and English, including contract language.
  • Ability to handle a heavy workload and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential.

Conditions

The role is based in the German market.

All applicant information is handled confidentially under EEO guidelines, and the company is an equal opportunity employer.

Benefits

  • Room to act on your own ideas while handling client management, project delivery and team leadership.
  • Work alongside colleagues with strong technical depth in a collaborative, supportive setting.
  • A flexible working environment, a competitive salary, and a focus on safety, wellbeing and professional development.
  • Benefits may include medical, dental and vision cover, life and AD&D insurance, disability cover, paid time off, leave of absence, voluntary benefits, perks, flexible work options, wellbeing resources, an employee assistance programme, business travel insurance, service recognition awards, a retirement savings plan and an employee stock purchase plan, depending on employment status.
  • Training and development programmes aimed at building technical and leadership skills, with a respectful and collaborative workplace.
