Description

This is an onsite role, and you will mostly work from a company office.

The company helps businesses connect, protect, analyze and act on their data and applications, from the network edge to the cloud. Its networking group is moving the industry past connectivity alone toward better digital experiences. Its AI-native networking platform blends the strengths of two networking product lines to improve cloud connectivity, network operations, security, simplicity and service assurance.

Sales Engineers in this group are technical specialists. They work out customers' business and technology problems and recommend networking solutions that deliver results sooner.

The Associate Sales Engineering program gives hands-on experience and room to grow for people starting out in technical sales. You will work alongside senior Sales Engineers and other team members while helping customers meet their goals.

Over the program you build the skills to act as technical lead in customer engagements. You learn to grasp customer needs, network and security limits and business priorities, then match them to networking solutions.

The role suits someone with technical curiosity who also communicates well and builds relationships. A technical or computer science degree is not needed. The team wants people who keep learning, explore how technology works on their own and explain complex ideas clearly.

Career path: you are hired as a Sales Engineer Level 1. After the 48-week program, you are encouraged to apply for posted Sales Engineer Level 2 or higher roles. Advancement is possible as your experience, technical depth and scope of work grow.

Responsibilities

  • Over a 48-week program, build core networking knowledge and pre-sales skills while contributing across several areas of Sales Engineering.
  • Help improve the program and roll out best practices.
  • Answer technical pre-sales questions from partners and internal teams.
  • Join projects that deepen your product and sales engineering knowledge.
  • Attend and help run onsite and remote customer presentations and engagements.
  • Support solution demonstrations and technical discussions.
  • Write technical responses to customer proposals and follow up on their questions.
  • Help build lab proof-of-concept setups from defined test plans.
  • Deliver training sessions and workshops.
  • Learn customer requirements and help shape solutions that fit their business needs.
  • Become familiar with both networking product lines the program covers.
  • By the end of the program, you will have core pre-sales skills and will have pursued certifications across both product portfolios.
  • The first 12 weeks cover foundational training across both portfolios, with new-hire training in the first few weeks.
  • Weekly hands-on labs and weekly demonstration practice.
  • Mentoring every two weeks.
  • Participation in the company's internal tech event, guest speaker sessions and extra learning opportunities.
  • Third-party pre-sales coaching and taking part in Sales Kick-Off activities.

  • You are comfortable in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • You can handle several deadlines and shifting priorities.
