Description

The company is a full-service engineering, design, and construction firm that supports utility and infrastructure projects from planning and design through execution, with a focus on cost efficiency, constructability, and long-term value.

Founded in 1985, the company works across engineering, design, environmental, laboratory, technical, and field services in several industries. A 2026 merger with J.D. Hair & Associates added trenchless, geotechnical, and structural engineering expertise. The company is part of the company Family of Companies, a global energy and infrastructure construction leader.

This role supports the electrical distribution design process by applying project management principles to planning, organizing, and carrying out work. You will work alongside the Project Manager on QA/QC and training. The role plans, directs, and coordinates designated projects so goals are met on schedule and within budget. You will need a working grasp of how the business operates, how shifting conditions are managed, and who to ask when unsure.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager in planning, organizing, and implementing project management practices for electrical distribution design.
  • Take part in QA/QC and training activities alongside the Project Manager.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate assigned projects so they meet their objectives within the set timeframe and funding limits.
  • Anticipate and meet the needs of internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or 3+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of the two.
  • Experience coordinating field operations, QA/QC, training, and design processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with comfort interacting with customers.
  • Able to work well in a team and also independently with little supervision, and to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with GE Smallworld, SAP, or similar utility design and work management systems is preferred.

Conditions

Roughly 25% fieldwork and 75% office-based work.

Field assignments are usually within your local area, with minimal overnight travel. Occasional overnight stays may be required.

On non-field days, your work location (company office or home office) depends on where you are based.

Base salary range: $29 - $41 USD per hour, based on current market data. Ranges may vary by location, and actual pay depends on skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

The company is an equal opportunity employer and considers all qualified applicants regardless of protected characteristics.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and life insurance, plus flexible spending accounts and a health savings account, subject to eligibility.
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance, a 401(k) plan, a legal plan, and identity theft monitoring.
  • 15 to 25 days of paid time off and 8 paid holidays each year.
  • An average of $5,000 per employee spent on training each year.
  • A family-owned company that prioritizes safety over speed and shares experience to develop industry leaders.
