Program Manager

Description

The company is a contract partner for large brands, offering engineering, supply chain and manufacturing services across more than 100 sites worldwide, built on 60 years of industry experience.

The Program Manager leads strategic initiatives for a defined customer, internal or external, or end user, guiding multi-functional project teams and building the customer relationship. You own budgets, schedules, project management and performance requirements for enterprise-level projects.

Responsibilities

• Make sure project requirements and objectives are captured accurately, understood and translated into work the team can execute.
• Assemble teams to meet the goals of one or more enterprise-level projects.
• Work with the customer, internal or external, from requirements gathering through product acceptance.
• Set milestones, goals and objectives using input from every functional area and stakeholder, and align the program team to customer needs.
• Review schedules with the functional project managers and project coordinators assigned to your projects.
• Find creative answers to urgent customer and user needs, and build project plans around project goals, company initiatives and project-specific KPIs or metrics.
• Track each project's KPIs and keep work within scope, quality, time and cost limits.
• Analyse program costs, including capital expenditure requests, travel, training, resource allocation and other project costs.
• Own overall project results: cost, schedule, quality and scope.
• Find lower-cost options by simplifying processes and systems, such as reassigning or combining tasks, removing steps that add no value, or fully redesigning processes and systems.
• Put customer service first: solve problems quickly and well, make customer issues a priority, and go beyond what was expected.

Requirements

• Talk with the customer every day or as needed.
• Understand company operating policies and procedures, or be willing to learn them.
• Have deep knowledge of the company's culture and guiding principles.
• Work comfortably across different country cultures, business divisions and internal hierarchies.
• Work with staff at every company facility and in every job role to get results.
• Use personal computers and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and email proficiently.
• Hold a bachelor's degree. An equivalent mix of education, training and experience will also be considered.
• Have at least 8 years of work experience in project management or a related field.
• Show a proven record of strong customer service.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
