Senior Quality Systems Engineer

The company is a trusted partner to major global brands, offering engineering, supply chain and manufacturing services. It has 60 years of experience and more than 100 sites worldwide.

This role supports a new factory in Prince George, VA, that is starting up production of large, heavy and complex equipment, around shipping-container size and over 50 tons.

You will join the core startup team that builds the operations and manufacturing staff, fits out the building, and writes process flows and work instructions from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Build a solid QMS foundation that aligns with the company's global QMS and ISO 9001:2015.
• Own the Quality Policy and measurable quality objectives across the site, monitor performance, and drive corrective actions where needed.
• Lead management review meetings so decisions are based on data and compliance status is visible.
• Plan and run internal audits across engineering, operations (especially IC, planning and core manufacturing processes), product management and customer support.
• Act as the main contact for external auditors, certification bodies and regulators.
• Track nonconformities, corrective actions and risk mitigations through to closure.
• Use structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, RCA, FMEA, DMAIC or an equivalent.
• Manage the full lifecycle of QMS documents, including processes, SOPs, work instructions and quality records.
• Work with system owners to keep traceability and version control correct in the document control tools.
• Bring voice of customer input into QMS improvements and product roadmaps.
• Represent quality in major incident reviews and customer-impacting events.
• Track quality KPIs and present clear insights to executive leadership.
• Develop and deliver ISO 9001:2015 and QMS awareness training for all functions, starting at new employee orientation.
• Promote a proactive quality culture in which everyone owns quality.

Requirements

• Proven experience building a QMS at a startup, either by leading the effort or by co-leading it as a team partner.
• A bachelor's degree in engineering or a quality discipline. A master's degree is preferred.
• 5 to 8 years in quality engineering or quality systems roles, with at least 2 to 3 years leading a QMS.
• Strong expertise in ISO 9001:2015 implementation and in keeping certification in place.
• Proven experience with internal and supplier audits.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams while keeping processes simple and avoiding unnecessary paperwork.
• Hands-on knowledge of panel and point-to-point wire assembly, and of medium voltage, low voltage and high power electronic assemblies.
• Excel or Google Sheets mastery is preferred.
• Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a bonus.
• Strong grasp of FMEA and control plans is a plus.
• Certifications are preferred, such as CQE, CQA, Lead Auditor, or Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.

Conditions

This is an on-site role at the Prince George, VA facility.

The pay range is $79,400 to $142,900. The actual offer depends on qualifications, experience, location, education, external market data and internal equity.

The role is eligible for a short-term performance-based incentive as part of total rewards.
