Description

The company builds an AI-driven personalization platform that helps businesses engage customers across the whole journey, from product discovery and shopping guidance to automated marketing. Its customers include more than 1,400 global brands in retail, financial services, hospitality and gaming.

The Infrastructure team runs the core infrastructure on Google Cloud, with a focus on security, availability, cost and scale. It provides a base for other teams, supports developers, reviews design proposals, checks application performance and availability, and sometimes builds shared components such as logging or authorization. Each team releases, runs and monitors its own applications.

This is a full-time role, working from home or from one of the Central European offices in Bratislava, Brno or Prague.

Responsibilities

  • Work with other engineering teams to design sustainable infrastructure, microservice architectures and a reliable production environment.
  • Automate tools and infrastructure to cut down manual work.
  • Monitor applications and take part in an on-call rotation when required.
  • Own maintenance and project tasks from specification to production, using AI assistants to speed up delivery while keeping full understanding of and responsibility for every change shipped.
  • Take initiative, learn quickly and find creative, strategic solutions to problems.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of production experience with Kubernetes, including running applications around the clock. You should understand what happens inside the cluster, not just how to deploy to it.
  • At least 3 years of production experience with a public cloud, ideally GCP (preferred), or AWS or Azure. You should understand the risks and benefits of cloud hosting, work with infrastructure as code, and judge when to use a managed service versus a self-hosted one. The core platform runs on GCP.
  • At least 3 years of production experience with Python or Go. You should read and understand code confidently, review and evaluate AI-generated Python for correctness, security and fit, and build custom tooling when needed, with or without AI help.
  • Strong indicators of fit include: completing maintenance or project tasks independently, using AI tools while being able to explain every change, and staying current on Kubernetes and related technologies.
  • Hands-on work configuring pod and container security contexts, network policies, roles and role bindings, pod affinity, host paths, pod disruption budgets, priority classes and node taints.
  • Experience analyzing resource use and adjusting requests, limits, Horizontal Pod Autoscalers or Vertical Pod Autoscalers.
  • A solid grasp of the clusters you manage, including node pool machine types, enabled features, cluster version and node autoscaling. Experience upgrading Kubernetes versions without disrupting live applications.
  • Experience writing a Terraform module with several interconnected resources.
  • Experience setting up monitoring and alerting. On-duty experience is preferred, as is experience with Grafana and Prometheus.
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tooling such as Terraform, GitLab, Ansible and Docker.
  • Experience onboarding and training new team members.
