AGV Engineer

Description

Graduate or junior AGV engineer role at a company that supplies automated guided vehicles, based in Adelaide. The position is permanent and hybrid, with hybrid work available after initial training.

You will get hands-on experience across the full AGV lifecycle: testing, integration, commissioning, troubleshooting and customer support. You will work alongside experienced engineers and may visit customer sites to see the technology running in real environments.

The company designs, builds and supports automation and software for warehouses and distribution centres, and has over 11,000 employees worldwide and more than 900 across Australia and New Zealand. It has supplied AGVs in Australia and New Zealand for over 40 years.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, resolve and escalate Mobile Automation system faults, keeping customers updated throughout
• Run incidents and project tasks to agreed deadlines, budgets and quality standards, following internal procedures
• Build working relationships with customers, including training operators and client staff
• Keep accurate technical records and reports
• Commission AGVs on site
• Help senior engineers with costing, scheduling and ordering hardware and equipment
• Carry out system upgrades and configure computer hardware
• Test and integrate AGV and PLC systems
• Follow safety standards, keep building your skills, and support on-call cover and the wider team

Requirements

• Engineering degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics or Industrial Automation
• Experience with electrical design and installation
• Desirable: knowledge of configuring, programming and commissioning AGV PLCs
• Desirable: technical writing skills
• Knowledge of PCs and basic programming
• Flexibility and resourcefulness when situations are difficult
• Strong communication, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well in a team
• Eagerness to learn

Conditions

Permanent hybrid role based in Adelaide, with hybrid working available after initial training

Some travel to customer sites is required
