Description

The company is a global technology and professional services firm serving US government, defense, and intelligence agencies, with 26,000 staff across more than 50 countries in AI, cloud, cyber, and software development.

The team builds systems around a motion imagery software suite, focused on full motion video (FMV) and moving to newer technologies while keeping the mission on track.

You will act as a software development subject matter expert, giving operational support that turns data into intelligence for the Intelligence Community.

Responsibilities

  • Build and upgrade systems in the motion imagery suite so the mission stays on schedule.
  • Develop and integrate microservice APIs over gRPC or REST, covering service-level integration, API negotiation, threading, and load balancing.
  • Deploy micro and macro services on NodeJS or JBoss, and manage their communication endpoints.
  • Write and maintain large React/Redux web applications using rxJS and Reactive Streams, and triage bugs in legacy AngularJS applications.
  • Debug and troubleshoot applications in customer environments, with Java or C++ priority set by the customer.
  • Apply ETL concepts and engines to decouple solutions.
  • Create and maintain orchestration templates, adapting templates from unclassified teams for classified use.
  • Model, visualise, and query GraphDB, SQL, and NoSQL data.
  • Work with messaging engines and HA clusters, including Kafka streams and KsqlDB.
  • Create, deploy, and orchestrate containers with Docker and Kubernetes, and manage the scalability of deployed products.

Requirements

  • Hold an active TS/SCI clearance with SCI polygraph.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • Have 10+ years of related experience.
  • Bring strong Java skills, including AOP and IOC, plus working knowledge of JavaScript, React/Redux, AngularJS, SQL, NoSQL, graph databases, and C++.
  • Apply advanced technologies, principles, and engineering standards to your work.
  • Be willing to learn one discipline and build working knowledge of adjacent fields.
  • Track daily, sprint, and increment metrics, performance, and backlogs in JIRA.
  • Have experience working in Agile, including sprints, demonstrations, and Scrum.
  • Communicate issues, impacts, and corrective actions clearly to varied audiences, and report relevant information.
  • Anticipate technology, process, and skill needs.
  • Show proven problem-solving in complex environments.
  • Preferred: experience with MS SQL Server, OmniSci, or Accumulo/Hadoop.

Conditions

Onsite at the customer site in McLean, Virginia, near Tysons Corner.

The role is 40 scheduled hours per week, with no travel required.

The likely salary range is $170,000 - $230,000. Actual pay depends on experience, location, and possibly contract terms, may fall outside this range, and is not guaranteed.

Hiring includes an identity check using biometrics and AI. Virtual interviews require you to be on camera, and the company may take your picture to verify identity. By proceeding, you authorise collection and use of your biometric data for verification and security.

Equal opportunity employer, including individuals with disabilities and protected veterans.

Benefits

  • 401(k) with company match, with pre- and post-tax contributions up to IRS annual limits.
  • Medical plan options, some with Health Savings Accounts, plus dental and vision plans.
  • Short and long-term disability, life, accidental death and dismemberment, personal accident, critical illness, and business travel and accident insurance, provided or available.
  • Paid vacation, sick and personal time, holidays, parental, military, bereavement, and jury duty leave.
