Founding Engineer

Description

The company runs a sports prediction app where friends, offices and clubs compete in pick 'em, survivor (Last Man Standing) and tipping pools across all major leagues.

The app does not take wagers or hold any money.

It has been live on iOS, Android and the web since July 2026, with over 5,000 players in 39 countries, roughly half of them in the US, close to 400 pools and more than 50,000 picks.

The founder, who is not an engineer, built the current version with AI coding tools, and the team now needs an engineer to take full ownership.

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the product, built on React, Vite, Supabase (Postgres) and Capacitor.
• Publish new versions to the App Store and Google Play.
• Handle live sports data and results for many leagues across different time zones.
• Improve reliability and prepare the platform to grow, using AI coding tools to work quickly.

Requirements

• Solid React skills and familiarity with Postgres and Supabase.
• Experience getting a mobile app released on the App Store or Google Play.
• A wish to own a live consumer product that people already use.
• Bonus: experience with sports apps, real-time data or scaling systems.

Conditions

Sydney-based, with flexible hours.

Equity only to begin with, moving to a salaried position in 2027.

Starts with a paid trial project lasting 2 to 4 weeks.
