Java Developer with Kotlin (Prime Brokerage Technology)

Responsibilities

• Build and take ownership of core components of the Prime Brokerage platform in Java and Kotlin.
• Lead an agile team by mentoring developers and setting standards for coding, testing and CI/CD.
• Push for quality and ongoing improvement across the SDLC and DevOps, using measures such as DORA to raise efficiency.
• Lead discussions on system architecture, design, planning and estimation with engineers and business stakeholders.
• Turn complex business requirements into detailed technical specifications.
• Create and maintain all project and technical documentation.
• Spot, reduce and resolve complex risks at every stage of the software development lifecycle.
• Run production support, study patterns in issues, and lead work to improve performance, scalability and reliability.

Requirements

• Strong Java skills and experience with test-driven development are essential.
• Experience with Kotlin, cloud platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift), messaging systems (Kafka, Solace, TIBCO), data stores and query tools (SQL Server, Trino, Mongo, S3) and observability tools (OpenTelemetry, Elastic Stack / ELK, Grafana) is an advantage.
• Proven relevant experience in an Applications Development or systems analysis role.
• Extensive experience in systems analysis and in programming software applications.
• Experience managing and delivering successful projects.
• Subject matter expert in at least one area of Applications Development.
• Able to change priorities quickly as circumstances require.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication.
• Bachelor's degree or university degree, or equivalent experience. A Master's degree is preferred.
• Recommended qualifications: the items above marked as recommended are preferred rather than mandatory.

Conditions

Full-time role.

Hybrid working model with up to 2 days a week working from home, in a business casual workplace.
