Wintel and Linux Product Architect

Description

The company has 60 years of experience in engineering, supply chain and manufacturing, and runs over 100 sites worldwide.

The infrastructure team is modernizing its enterprise server platforms, which support business-critical operations in several regions, with cloud adoption and automation as central goals.

Responsibilities

• Set the long-term architecture direction for Windows and Linux platforms across on-premises, cloud and hybrid setups.
• Guide modernization of infrastructure with a focus on scale, security, resilience and automation.
• Create architecture standards, governance models and engineering practices.
• Work with cloud, security, networking, application and infrastructure teams on joint solutions.
• Lead Infrastructure-as-Code and automation work that makes operations more efficient and platforms more consistent.
• Design highly available, resilient platforms for services used across the globe.
• Make the key technical decisions on server architecture and the technology roadmap.
• Oversee performance tuning, capacity planning and lifecycle management.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership to teams.
• Assess new technologies and recommend those that fit business goals.
• Review and approve designs, Architecture Decision Records and solution proposals through governance processes.

Requirements

• You have 8-10 years in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering or architecture.
• You have deep knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS and enterprise identity services.
• You have supported enterprise Linux environments, including RHEL and Ubuntu.
• You have hands-on experience with VMware, virtualization and hybrid cloud architectures.
• You know Microsoft Azure, AWS infrastructure services, or both.
• You have automated work with scripting tools such as PowerShell.
• You understand networking, storage, infrastructure security and resiliency.
• You communicate clearly and manage stakeholders well.
• You have worked in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Preferred: certifications from Microsoft, VMware, AWS, Azure or Linux vendors.
• Preferred: you have led infrastructure transformation or modernization initiatives.
• Preferred: you have implemented Infrastructure-as-Code and DevOps practices.

Conditions

Permanent, full-time position.

Monday to Friday, following standard European business hours.

Fully remote, with work based anywhere within Europe.
