Nearshore Sector | Dev / DevOps Engineer (Junior+++ / Senior)

Description

The nearshore team in Portugal supports AWS serverless cloud applications for a large aerospace client.

The role splits time between operational support and software development.

The company is a digital transformation firm with €1B in revenue, working across 20+ EMEA countries with 10,000+ tech and business professionals in cloud, data and cyber security.

Its teams combine cloud experts, designers, consultants, security specialists, engineers and developers.

Responsibilities

• Handle L2 incidents, user troubleshooting and service requests on a rotating roster.
• Cut support volume by automating recurring jobs, scripts and workflows.
• Work on bug fixes and features from the build backlog in Go or Angular/TypeScript.
• Read, edit and maintain Terraform infrastructure as code, along with Python or Bash scripts.
• Learn the system from senior tech leads and French build teams through knowledge transfer, reverse shadowing and handovers.
• Take part in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, code reviews and continuous improvement work.
• Monitor application health and cloud metrics to spot bottlenecks and likely failures early.

Requirements

• Between 2 and 5+ years of professional work in software development, cloud operations or DevOps.
• Strong hands-on skills in either Go or Angular/TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of AWS managed services such as Lambda, S3, CloudWatch and API Gateway.
• Ability to read, change and maintain Terraform configurations.
• Scripting in Python or Bash for operational automation.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD tooling and RESTful APIs.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to join a structured L2 rotation.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Conditions

Rotating L2 schedule with no weekend work.

Based in Portugal.
