Description

The company needs a web developer to build, improve and maintain web applications for a government customer, working with HTML5, JavaScript, Bootstrap, CSS, C/.NET and SQL to turn business needs into usable software.

The team supports a portfolio of more than 100 applications. Work includes new features, defect fixes, web API integrations, data conversion and exploring new technical options.

You can try AI-assisted development tools such as Roo Code and build them into your daily work. The goal is reliable, maintainable software that performs well, is easy to use and stays supportable over time.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, improve, test and maintain web applications, including custom, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and government off-the-shelf (GOTS) solutions.
  • Work with business analysts, UI/UX developers, subject matter experts and other technical staff to turn functional requirements into working application solutions.
  • Estimate development and enhancement work and judge how proposed software changes will affect the system.
  • Write technical specifications and maintainable code, and carry out unit testing.
  • Build and maintain web APIs, application interfaces, data conversion routines and SQL-based data solutions.
  • Use AWS services to develop, deploy, monitor and support cloud applications.
  • Follow the program's configuration management, change control, coding and release management standards.
  • Take part in formal testing. Find the cause of application problems using code, logs, data and system behaviour, and fix defects before code goes to production.
  • Look for ways to improve performance, usability, security and long-term maintainability.
  • Keep up with application features, technical changes and modern practices, including the responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.

Requirements

  • Required: at least two (2) years of relevant web or software development experience.
  • Required: an active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
  • Required: hands-on experience with HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
  • Required: experience building web applications with C/.NET and Bootstrap.
  • Required: experience using AWS services to develop, deploy, troubleshoot or support cloud applications.
  • Required: working knowledge of SQL, web development principles, programming practices and coding standards.
  • Required: the ability to juggle competing priorities, solve technical problems and work well in a fast-moving team.
  • Required: you are self-motivated, can find work to do without being told, and contribute to team goals.
  • Desired: a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Desired: an AWS certification, such as AWS Certified Developer, Associate or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Professional.
  • Desired: experience with Python.
  • Desired: familiarity with Agile software development.
  • Desired: experience with AI-assisted development tools, or interest in applying AI to software development.

  • Desired: a CompTIA Security+ certification.
