Description

The company is a diversified construction business operating across North America, and this role sits within its video communications team in Vancouver, BC.

You will work with Creative Services, the Communications team, business leaders and stakeholders to deliver photo and video work that meets communication goals. You report to the Team Lead, Video Communications.

Content you capture will be shared with internal and external audiences, including on social media. Your footage will follow brand standards and safety guidelines, so you will need to shoot strong b-roll, set up lighting, and record interviews on multi-camera sets with sound handled well.

You will also support post-production, including editing, sound design, visual effects, mastering and archiving. Pre-production work such as project coordination, interviewee preparation, scripting and storyboarding may come up from time to time.

Responsibilities

  • Run post-production for photo and video projects: editing, music choice, sound design, on-screen text, animation, photo selection, final delivery, archiving and tracking results.
  • Plan and record video projects that support business and corporate communication goals, shaping the story to suit different audiences and channels.
  • Set objectives, deliverables, timelines and expected outcomes for each project, then manage the work so it finishes well and on schedule.
  • Capture, curate and produce engaging photo and video content for internal, external, digital and social media channels that supports business and communications priorities.
  • Travel to offices, work sites and other locations to film key business activities, milestones, events and project progress.
  • Work with communications staff, business stakeholders and project partners to understand what content is needed, keep it aligned with company messaging, and produce visuals that meet the communication goals.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of video editing experience.
  • Hands-on experience with DaVinci Resolve or the Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. You should be able to work at an expert level in these tools and pick up new applications quickly.
  • Experience shooting photos or video.
  • Skill in video recording, editing, sound design, colour grading, video formats and compression codecs.
  • Strong writing, and the ability to turn ideas into clear, professional and engaging video messages.
  • A certificate in Video or Film Production, Project Management, Communications, Marketing or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Self-directed, well organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle several priorities at once.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with a knack for building relationships both in person and remotely.
  • A team player who works well within group projects and can take a project through to completion.
  • Customer-focused, showing integrity, respect, sincerity, diplomacy, warmth, empathy and optimism.

Conditions

Hybrid role: you work from home and come into the office when business needs require it.

Travel of 15% to 20% to various office locations is required.

Base pay range: $60,000 to $70,000. Final pay within this range depends on factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.

The company is an equal-opportunity employer. Applications are welcome from all qualified people, whatever their race, colour, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or veteran status.

Benefits

  • A total rewards package covering physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
  • Challenging work with chances to grow your skills and knowledge.
