Description

The company is building its user experience team and is offering an 11-week internship for students who want to combine design, technology and sound.

Interns work alongside experienced people and contribute ideas that the team uses to push what the product can do.

Responsibilities

  • Join a cross-functional group of designers, researchers, engineers and product managers to shape how people use the company's app and connected products.
  • Own a project from the initial problem through to a working prototype.
  • Design complete flows and interfaces, from first-time setup through everyday listening.
  • Move from unclear problems to clear concepts using sketches, wireframes and interactive prototypes.
  • Plan and run research with real listeners, then turn the findings into design decisions.
  • Work with engineers to build your designs and apply the design system so the experience stays consistent across platforms.
  • Present your work to your team and to company leadership to make the case for your ideas.
  • Use AI tools to explore ideas more quickly, synthesize research and improve how the team designs.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate program at a college or university, ideally in human-computer interaction, interaction design, visual communication, cognitive science or a related field.
  • Have a portfolio or equivalent work samples that show your design process from framing a problem to the final solution.
  • Be skilled in Figma or a comparable design and prototyping tool.
  • Have a solid understanding of UX basics: interaction design, information architecture and usability.
  • Be curious and collaborative, and comfortable giving and receiving feedback.
  • Preferred: Experience designing for iOS or Android, following platform guidelines such as Apple HIG or Material Design.
  • Preferred: Hands-on experience with user research methods such as interviews, usability testing and surveys.
  • Preferred: Experience with motion or prototyping tools such as ProtoPie, Principle or After Effects.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with design systems and accessibility best practices.
  • Preferred: Interest in music, audio or connected-home products.
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate program in a related field, with an expected graduation of Winter 2027/2028 or Spring 2028/2029.
  • Available for the internship from June 7 to August 20, 2027.
  • Able to work from the Seattle office at least 4 days per week.
  • Authorized to work for any US employer now and in the future. The company cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this role at this time.
