Description

The company's Global Business Expense Transparency group is hiring a Capital Markets Business/Data Analyst to build out and improve the Trade Cost Calculator and Analytics platform, which reports on trading costs and activity across global markets.

You will work between business and technology, with trading desks, business managers and senior stakeholders, turning data into analysis the business can act on and shaping how the platform develops.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development work on the VARCITI trade cost analytics platform.
  • Build and refine trade and cost analytics, such as volume profiling, product analysis and tracking of expense trends.
  • Create and improve processes that reconcile trade expense analytics against third-party invoices.
  • Work with Front Office, Middle Office, Operations and Technology teams to map their dependencies and define useful metrics.
  • Meet trading desks and senior stakeholders to show what the platform can do and collect requests for enhancements.
  • Own the trading cost fee calculations and volume reconciliation across several products.

Requirements

  • Work with technology teams through each stage of the software development lifecycle to turn business needs into feature releases on time.
  • Find ways to improve the transparency and accuracy of cost reporting.
  • Gather and document requirements for new metrics, reporting changes and onboarding requests.
  • Have intermediate experience in fast-paced commercial settings, with a focus on technology or financial analysis.
  • Understand the software development lifecycle well.
  • Know trade flow processes and systems (preferred).
  • Know the products traded in Fixed Income, Commodities and Equities (preferred).
  • Have a proven record of spotting inefficiencies and improving data and analytical workflows.
  • Have advanced SQL skills (required).
  • Have expertise with data visualization tools such as QlikView, Tableau or similar.
  • Have strong skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Be familiar with Agile methodologies.
  • Bring strong analytical and problem-solving ability and close attention to detail.
  • Communicate clearly enough to work across functions.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree (required).
