Description

The company is hiring a Human Factors Test Engineer for its Getafe (Madrid) site, in the Integration Test & Analysis Team within the Flight & Integration Test Centre.

The team plans, prepares and runs integration tests at subsystem, system and aircraft level on programs including A330 MRTT, A400M, C295, Eurodrone, SIRTAP and the future FCAS/NGF. You would evaluate avionics and mission systems across simulators, ground test rigs and flight test campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Define, prepare and run Human Factors test campaigns on simulators, subsystem rigs and aircraft, on the ground and in flight.
  • Check that tests meet each program's Verification and Validation (V&V) strategy, review and refine test requests, and track milestones.
  • Help Flight Test Engineers write flight test orders, watch telemetry in real time, and carry out detailed data reduction and safety monitoring.
  • Work with Design Offices and Certification Authorities to draft Certification Cards, test plans and Qualification/Certification Test Reports.
  • Analyse system limitations, write snag reports, and give clear technical reasons for closing snags or for required design changes.
  • Improve data analysis workflows, test tools and procedures from a Human Factors and ergonomics standpoint across the aircraft programs.

Requirements

  • A degree in Aeronautical, Industrial or Systems Engineering, or another related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of Human Factors testing in systems integration settings (simulators, rigs or aircraft level).
  • Solid grasp of Human Factors concepts such as workload, situational awareness, HMI, usability and ergonomics.
  • Familiarity with test scales (NASA TLX, Bedford, ISA) and certification processes (COHDA, FAHDA).
  • Adaptability in a multidisciplinary team, a proactive approach to problem solving, and strong coordination skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within Spain and abroad to test sites such as Seville, Manching and Air Force Bases.
  • Advanced (negotiation level) English and Spanish.
  • Nice to have: official training or certification in Systems Integration & Test.
  • Nice to have: an active NATO SECRET security clearance, or eligibility to obtain one.

Conditions

Permanent contract, professional experience level, in the Testing job family, employed by the company Defence and Space SAU.

Hybrid working where possible, with flexible arrangements.

Equal opportunity: applications are welcome regardless of background, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation or religious belief.

Benefits

  • Paid vacation plus extra days off during the year.
  • Competitive salary.
  • Company transport service, depending on working calendar and home location.
  • Life insurance, health insurance, employee stock options, retirement plan or study grants.
  • On-site facilities including a free canteen, kindergarten and medical office.
  • Opportunities to join social and corporate responsibility initiatives.
  • Upskilling and development in a multicultural setting.
  • Discounts on products and benefits.
