Description

Delish is one of the internet's most-loved food brands, and this temporary designer role helps shape engaging work across digital, social, video and print that reaches millions of food lovers daily.

The company is part of the company Magazines, a media group with 30 well-known brands, including Cosmopolitan, Delish, Esquire, Good Housekeeping, Men's Health and Road & Track, reaching nearly 130 million people each month. Its teams pair journalism and storytelling with technology, data and commerce.

Responsibilities

  • Create strong visual assets for digital, social, video and print that strengthen the Delish brand.
  • Work with social and video teams on templates, graphic systems, title cards, lower thirds, end cards, thumbnails and other assets for recurring series.
  • Turn digital templates into Figma files that let editors work more efficiently.
  • Build and maintain content in the content management system while keeping the brand consistent and high in quality.
  • Make recipe graphics, infographics and social posts for Instagram and Facebook.
  • Lay out magazine pages, manage production files through each stage and keep projects on schedule.
  • Set up Figma files for each new quarterly issue and export and package final files for production.
  • Occasionally create editorial illustrations and help with cross-team creative projects when needed.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in graphic arts or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4 to 5 years of graphic design experience, ideally in publishing, editorial media or a similar creative setting.
  • Experience designing for editorial, digital and social platforms while keeping a unified visual identity.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Figma, plus a basic grasp of HTML.
  • Strong typography, photo editing and visual storytelling skills, shown in a portfolio of digital and social work.
  • The ability to design for each platform's specific needs instead of just resizing one asset for every channel.
  • A collaborative approach, open to feedback, able to juggle several priorities in a fast-moving setting.
  • Self-motivated and solution-minded, comfortable working alone while partnering with creative and editorial colleagues.
  • Motion design, animation, video editing or Adobe After Effects experience is a plus.

Conditions

This is a remote role, with occasional office days as needed.

The base salary is $40 to $50 USD per hour, as the company's good-faith estimate for this posted location at the time of posting.
