Description

The company is building standalone products that go beyond news, designed to enrich users' lives and grow the subscription business.

The New Business team is a group within a next-generation global media and entertainment company with three segments: Studios, Direct-to-Consumer, and TV Media.

As a Staff Product Designer, you will help lead design for high-impact, strategically complex initiatives central to the company's future.

The role suits an experienced designer who works well with ambiguity and has deep experience designing user-centered experiences across several platforms and channels.

Responsibilities

  • Help lead the design vision and end-to-end delivery of original experiences for new products in highly ambiguous areas.
  • Build a range of design artifacts, from IA maps and sketches to high-fidelity visual prototypes, adjusting their depth to fit each project and using them to guide decisions with partners.
  • Work autonomously, moving from a blank problem to a concrete direction without waiting for detailed instructions.
  • Join workshops and exploratory sessions that shape design direction and inform product strategy across new business initiatives.
  • Work closely with editorial, product, engineering, research, and growth experts to turn competing inputs and business goals into a strong, customer-focused product.
  • Understand the limits of the mobile platform and the business, and know when to push against convention to reimagine what is possible for users.

Requirements

  • 8+ years as a cross-platform product designer, including at least 4 years on native mobile experiences.
  • Mastery of Figma and prototyping.
  • Impeccable visual and interaction design skills.
  • Expertise in creating and changing components within a mature design system kit.
  • Experience building and maintaining design systems or component libraries.
  • Mastery of UX best practices, including usability principles, user research methods, and testing techniques.
  • Solid understanding of mobile and web technologies.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience with program management tools such as Confluence and Jira.
  • Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in media companies is a plus.

Conditions

Base salary range is $116,480.00 to $216,320.00 per year.

Pay is disclosed as required by local law, and actual pay depends on factors such as location, market data, internal equity, skills, experience, training, education, and performance.

Accommodations are available for qualified candidates with disabilities during the application and recruitment process.

Benefits

  • Eligibility for annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards, alongside base pay.
  • Health insurance coverage and an employee wellness program.
  • Life and disability insurance.
  • A retirement savings plan.
  • Paid holidays, sick time, and vacation.
