Description

The company is a global media and entertainment business with three segments: Studios, Direct-to-Consumer and TV Media.

Its global experiences division takes film and television franchises into theme parks, studio tours, hotels, location-based entertainment, pop-ups and dining, working with partners around the world.

The studio has entertained audiences for more than 90 years through its best-known characters and franchises.

This senior design role reports to the Vice President for Creative and shapes the creative vision for global experiences. You will manage high-complexity design projects and develop themed experiences and live entertainment with partners.

Responsibilities

  • Set regional creative direction for themed entertainment, working with the department Vice President, business leads and franchise teams to keep brands consistent and aligned with strategy.
  • Lead creative work on regional projects from concept to production, coordinating design partners, licensees and consultants, and working with US creative teams on consistency, quality, accuracy and legal compliance.
  • Develop new ideas and designs with business leads in EMEA and the US that meet department goals.
  • Direct creative work and art direction for pop-ups, theme parks, hotels, experiential and retail spaces, exhibitions, location-based entertainment, F&B, graphics and live shows.
  • Review and edit scripts for live entertainment and media, and approve creative submissions such as show set packages, production drawings, graphics and media.
  • Present creative ideas to partners, senior management and team members, and work with partners, vendors and brand assurance teams so delivery matches approved concepts.
  • Work with product managers and teams across brand and franchise management, legal, data insights, project management and marketing to deliver strong designs, share best practice and apply knowledge of construction and built environments.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in themed entertainment or closely related fields, such as film, theatre or live entertainment.
  • Expertise in environmental design, site installation, live entertainment and character design, with strong graphic layout and presentation skills.
  • Hands-on site installation experience and broad knowledge of materials and best practice.
  • Skilled in Microsoft, Adobe Creative Suite and Keynote. 3D modelling experience is a plus.
  • Able to produce sketches and finished renderings.
  • Able to present creative concepts to clients clearly and professionally, and to work with other designers, business leads and interdepartmental teams.
  • Familiar with industry trends and guest experience design.
  • Knowledge of the studio's brands, pop culture, industry trends and emerging technologies is essential.
  • Willing to model the guiding principles, champion diversity and inclusion, and use data and insights to make the most of the brands and franchises while committing to best-in-class projects.
  • Fluency in Spanish is advantageous but not essential.
  • Must own a car and be willing to drive to Leavesden for the role.
