Description

The company is a fast-growing federal contractor that supports the Department of Defense and other intelligence agencies around the world, building mission critical national security systems.

The company is hiring a Technical Recruiter for a hybrid role based in the San Antonio, Texas metro area.

You will own full cycle recruiting for technical and professional roles that serve federal contracts and internal corporate operations, working with hiring managers, program leads, HR, and Security to find qualified people, keep accurate records, and fill roles on time within approved staffing plans and budgets.

Likely areas include cybersecurity and information assurance, network and systems administration, software engineering, enterprise applications, health IT, engineering, and related support functions. The role covers both funded openings and roles tied to proposals or contingent opportunities.

This role helps the company meet contract staffing needs, keep services running, and win new work. Good recruiting reduces the risk of delivery gaps during contract transitions and keeps hiring costs under control. Careful screening and records support sound hiring choices and compliance, and respectful candidate handling strengthens the company's reputation and its talent pipelines for present and future needs.

Responsibilities

  • Plan requisitions and source candidates: meet hiring managers to confirm required and preferred qualifications, labor category, work location, schedule, contract status, clearance needs, pay parameters, and the selection process.
  • Write accurate job postings from approved job descriptions and posting rules, and make clear which openings are funded and which depend on contract award, funding, or customer approval.
  • Source active and passive candidates through approved job boards, professional networks, Boolean searches, referrals, hiring events, and military and veteran channels.
  • Build and maintain pipelines for recurring, hard to fill, and expected roles, and suggest changes to sourcing when candidate supply or pay limits slow progress.
  • Review resumes and applications before preliminary screens, judging technical experience, education, certifications, availability, location, and interest against consistent, job related criteria.
  • Talk through pay expectations with candidates and work with HR and hiring managers on compensation within company guidelines and applicable rules.
  • Write brief candidate summaries covering strengths, possible gaps, pay expectations, and next steps. Arrange technical interviews and get timely, documented feedback from hiring managers.
  • Work with Security to confirm clearance and access requirements for each position throughout hiring.
  • Coordinate offers with HR and hiring managers, explain employment terms and conditions, and hand off smoothly to screening, onboarding, and start dates.
  • Keep accurate applicant tracking records covering screening notes, interview feedback, candidate contact, decisions, and offer status, and share accurate new hire details with HR.
  • Protect applicant and company information, and follow recruiting, record retention, equal opportunity, accessibility, and federal contractor requirements.
  • Send regular requisition updates, flag delays and risks, suggest process improvements, and support recruiting projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of recruiting experience, including at least 2 years recruiting for technical roles, with proven ownership of sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and offer support.
  • Working knowledge of technical job families and the ability to measure resumes against set requirements for experience, certifications, education, and contract needs.
  • Experience with an applicant tracking system, online sourcing tools, and Boolean search, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools.
  • Strong written communication, interviewing, organization, and follow-through skills, good relationship management, the ability to juggle competing priorities, and discretion with confidential information.
  • Preferred: experience recruiting for federal contractors, sourcing for cleared roles, familiarity with contract labor categories, proposal staffing, and contingent offers, experience with Greenhouse and ADP Workforce Now, and experience recruiting cybersecurity, infrastructure, software, or engineering talent.
  • Education: a high school diploma or equivalent is required. A bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field is preferred, and relevant experience is also considered.
