Information Technology Project Manager, Senior (Deputy Project Manager)

Description

The company is a growing contractor that builds mission-critical national security systems for the DoD and other intelligence agencies around the world, supporting warfighters, DoD leadership and the nation.

This role is a Senior Deputy Project Manager based in the Indianapolis, IN area. You will act as the designated deputy across all operations of the DFAS Enterprise Services Labor Initiative (ESLI) contract, and you will oversee day-to-day contractor performance on work supporting the DFAS Common Computing Environment (CCE).

Responsibilities

• Hold full authority for the contractor, including all Government communication and decisions, whenever the Primary Program Manager is away
• Oversee the daily work of contractor technical teams across every task area
• Help build and maintain the Program Management Plan, Quality Control Plan and Risk Management Plan
• Track contract performance against PRS requirements and arrange corrective action when needed
• Manage deliverable timelines and review technical documents for format and content
• Handle workforce matters such as onboarding, tracking training completion and keeping certifications current
• Assist with transition planning and carry out contract phase-in and phase-out activities
• Work with DFAS technical staff and the CCB to coordinate change management
• Prepare and present status reports, Monthly Status Reviews (MSRs) and performance metrics for Government stakeholders
• Support COOP exercises and emergency response coordination

Requirements

• At least 8 years of progressive IT project management experience in DoD or Federal Government settings
• Proven experience as a project controller on efforts of similar size and scope
• Experience running IT infrastructure operations in enterprise data centers
• Solid grasp of project management methods, scheduling and resource planning
• Clear written and spoken communication, including briefing Government officials
• Experience applying DoD STIG policies, standards and procedures
• Knowledge of quality assurance programs and tracking performance metrics
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams in high-availability environments
• Ability to support COOP exercises and emergency operations
• Bachelor's degree (BA or BS)
• Project+ or CAPM, and Security+ (or an equivalent under 802 A)
• Computing Environment (CE) certification, required for privileged access roles
• Obtain and maintain all mandatory DoD 8140 certifications
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
• Preferred: DFAS or DoD financial management system support experience
• Preferred: Hybrid cloud operations experience with Azure Government
• Preferred: ServiceNow or another enterprise ITSM platform
• Preferred: Experience with 24/7/365 operations and shift management
