Description

The company is a fast-growing contractor that supports the Department of Defense and other intelligence agencies around the world.

It builds mission-critical national security systems used by warfighters, defense leadership and the country.

This Technical Recruiter III role is hybrid, based in the San Antonio, TX metro area.

As a senior recruiter, you will work independently on complex technical hiring for federal contracts and corporate operations.

Hiring needs may cover cybersecurity, information assurance, networks, systems administration, software engineering, enterprise applications, health IT and engineering.

The work covers funded roles, contract transitions, and proposal or contingent openings, and includes mentoring other recruiters and improving how the team recruits.

Strong sourcing and candidate assessment shorten long vacancies, hiring rework and avoidable recruiting spend, and accurate records keep hiring compliant and candidates well treated.

Responsibilities

  • Run intake meetings to pin down technical qualifications, labor category requirements, location, certifications, clearance or access needs, pay parameters and selection criteria.
  • Build sourcing plans for hard-to-fill roles using advanced Boolean searches, professional networks, referrals, talent communities and military and veteran recruiting channels.
  • Assess talent availability and candidate feedback, and advise hiring managers on sourcing options, qualification trade-offs and recruiting risk, while keeping contract qualification requirements intact.
  • Screen applications through structured preliminary reviews covering technical experience, education, certifications, availability and fit with the role.
  • Write clear candidate recommendations and qualification summaries, and arrange technical assessments, interviews and documented hiring manager feedback.
  • Nurture relationships with passive candidates so qualified pipelines stay ready for recurring needs, contract transitions and expected awards.
  • Work with HR and hiring managers on compensation and offers in line with company guidelines and applicable rules, and explain employment terms and contingencies clearly.
  • Coordinate with Security on clearance and access, and with HR on screening, onboarding and start dates, keeping candidates informed throughout.
  • Help staff proposals and identify key personnel, separating funded positions from roles that depend on award, funding or customer approval.
  • Keep applicant tracking records accurate and report on requisition progress, candidate conversion, sourcing results, offer outcomes and recruiting delays.
  • Coach recruiters on technical sourcing, screening, candidate communication and record quality, sharing effective search methods and contributing to process documentation and training.
  • Recommend recruiting improvements based on data and stakeholder input, protect confidential information, and follow recruiting, equal opportunity, accessibility and record retention rules.
  • Send timely staffing updates and handle other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of end-to-end recruiting experience, including at least 5 years recruiting technical talent.
  • Within those years, at least 3 years supporting federal contractor recruiting, including cleared positions and contract qualification requirements. These experience requirements overlap and are not additive.
  • A record of independently filling hard-to-fill technical roles across several disciplines.
  • Ability to advise hiring managers, interpret recruiting results and propose practical fixes.
  • Experience mentoring recruiters and putting recruiting improvements in place.
  • Strong skills in advanced sourcing, technical screening, applicant tracking and reporting.
  • Strong communication, organization, judgment, follow-through and confidentiality when juggling competing priorities and sensitive information.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: experience supporting contract transitions, proposal staffing and contingent offers.
  • Preferred: Greenhouse and ADP Workforce Now experience.
  • Preferred: a relevant recruiting or HR certification.
  • Preferred: a bachelor's degree in human resources, business or a related field; relevant experience is also valued when assessing qualifications.
