Description

The company is building a high-performance RISC-V CPU from scratch and works across AI software, compilers, platforms, networking, and semiconductors, aiming to raise performance, ease of use, and cost efficiency for AI computing.

The team is growing and welcomes people at every seniority level. You will sit in the Platform Gen group and take on technical programs across runtime systems, device drivers, deployment, observability, and hardware enablement, going well beyond schedules and meeting coordination.

You will work with software, hardware, systems, and architecture teams to find technical blockers, map dependencies, and turn unclear engineering problems into concrete execution plans.

The team's output affects the reliability and speed of the company's AI platforms, from single accelerators to large AI compute clusters. Your work will help make systems more reliable, make deployment and debugging simpler, and get software and hardware ready sooner for internal teams and outside customers.

You will learn how runtime systems, device drivers, and platform software combine to run fast, dependable AI accelerators and full AI systems, from one device up to distributed clusters. You will also see how software, firmware, hardware, and observability tooling form production-ready platforms, how to lead technically complex work across disciplines, and how to use data, automation, and AI tools to run engineering more efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Run complex platform engineering programs from start to finish, covering problem definition, technical planning, implementation, validation, and delivery.
  • Coordinate runtime, device driver, deployment, observability, debug tooling, hardware, and architecture teams to manage dependencies and clear blockers.
  • Lead reliability and scaling efforts for AI systems, including fleet-scale deployment, cluster recovery, hardware and software integration, and fixing issues that keep coming back.
  • Set up execution plans, milestones, success measures, and reporting so teams can spot risks and make well-informed decisions.
  • Improve how engineering gets done using problem-solving, telemetry, dashboards, automation, and AI-assisted workflows, while keeping platforms ready for new hardware and customer needs.

Requirements

  • Strong technical grounding, with experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or technical program management on a complex engineering effort.
  • Able to understand software architecture, system dependencies, and how hardware and software interact, and to turn technical challenges into actionable plans.
  • Comfortable leading open-ended initiatives across several engineering teams with competing priorities and changing requirements.
  • Data-driven and proactive: you spot risks, investigate problems, and push them to resolution.
  • Hands-on and resourceful, with strong communication skills and an interest in applying code, automation, dashboards, and AI-powered tools to engineering workflows.

Conditions

Hybrid role based in Santa Clara, CA; Austin, TX; or Toronto, Canada.

Compensation for all engineers ranges from $100k - $500k, including base pay and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background, and location all affect the actual offer.

Candidates are assessed for the appropriate level during interviews, and the offer will match that level, which may differ from the level in this posting.

Equal opportunity employer.

The offer is contingent on being eligible to access U.S. export-controlled technology under the U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR), including rules for nationals of certain countries such as EAR Country Groups D:1, E1, and E2, which apply to people in the U.S. and abroad.
