Description

The company is a technology firm that works only with the US federal government, with more than 13,000 people serving clients in defense, national security, public safety, civilian agencies, and military health.

You would be the senior engineer and technical lead for your team. You will still write code, but your success depends on what the team delivers rather than your own output.

You will work with the client, product, and QA teams to shape solutions and advise on product development, architecture, and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineers who build and ship high-quality software, staying involved in code, design reviews, and pairing where it helps most.
  • Set technical direction by designing architecture, defining engineering standards, and weighing speed against quality and scale.
  • Work with the client, product, and QA teams to clarify requirements, scope, and priorities.
  • Handle planning and forecasting, clear blockers, and share status, risks, and progress openly with stakeholders.
  • Coach and develop engineers through regular feedback, career planning, and a habit of ownership and improvement.
  • Raise quality through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and close work with QA.
  • Use AI agents and workflows in the solutions you build and in how the team works to improve productivity and results.
  • Advise clients and colleagues on emerging technologies and product development practices.

Requirements

  • A strong software engineering background with proven experience as a tech lead or engineering manager.
  • Front-end experience with Angular.
  • Back-end experience with Java and Spring.
  • Experience designing and delivering serverless solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with AI agents and agentic workflows, and good judgment about where they add real value.
  • Ability to lead a team: set direction, earn trust, give candid feedback, and hold people accountable.
  • Clear communication with clients and cross-functional partners, both technical and non-technical.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a focus on results over activity.

Conditions

US citizenship is required.

You must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

As required by local law, the base pay range for this role is $139,300 - $282,500 USD in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia.

Pay varies by office location, role, skill set, and experience.

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, with no fixed deadline.

The company is committed to equal opportunity and a culture where everyone is respected and belongs.

Benefits

  • A wide variety of benefits, with details available from the company.
  • Hands-on experience, certifications, and industry training to help you learn and grow.
