Description

Full-time role with a hybrid work model.

The company helps businesses move freight more reliably and efficiently by combining technology, people and transport capacity, guided by real-time data from millions of shipments. It works with 1 in 3 Fortune 500 shippers in North America and manages over $17B in freight.

Its teams build applications, distributed systems and real-time models for its logistics marketplace, covering carrier tools, high-volume shipper portals, internal operations tooling, and pricing, matching and forecasting engines.

As a fullstack engineer, you will design and build systems across the whole stack, from backend services and APIs to the React web interfaces customers use. You will sit where user experience meets business logic, working with product, design and other engineering teams to ship reliable, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Build scalable, reliable fullstack services and interfaces with technologies such as Go, Java and React.
  • Set the technical direction for systems that span frontend interfaces and backend distributed services, and make the key design calls.
  • Promote testing, security, maintainable code and deployment practices to raise the engineering standard.
  • Work with Product, Design and Data Science to define technical scope, weigh trade-offs and deliver complex logistics features.
  • Spot technical debt, scaling limits and architectural opportunities early, and steer the platform's long-term technical direction.
  • Diagnose and fix hard, cross-layer production issues across frontend and backend.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, master's or PhD in computer science, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • At least 3 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years across backend and frontend systems.
  • Solid coding in one or more backend languages (Go, Java, Python or C++) and frontend skills in React, TypeScript and HTML/CSS.
  • Experience building scalable microservices and frontend applications that integrate with APIs.
  • Strong grasp of web performance, API design and data modeling.
  • Experience testing backend and frontend code at the unit, integration and end-to-end levels.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of data structures and algorithms, and the ability to apply them practically in implementations.
  • Preferred: Experience with one of MySQL, SQL Server or Oracle.
  • Preferred: Proven track record of leading technical projects and mentoring engineers.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with frontend component libraries and design systems.
  • Preferred: Strong product sense and attention to UX quality.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of the logistics and transportation industry.
