Description

The company is a semiconductor provider that builds embedded products for automotive, industrial, infrastructure, and IoT markets.

The company's AI-focused power delivery business is growing quickly. Its products include Smart Power Stages (SPS), point-of-load (POL) converters, hotswap and eFuse devices, and MOSFETs.

This Staff Test Engineer role applies broad test expertise to shape the test group's goals and principles, using inventive and effective methods.

The work covers significant, unusual problems where you weigh intangible factors in data and situations, reason at a conceptual level about advanced issues and their consequences, and use your own judgement on methods, techniques, and pass criteria. You own the results, which can affect the wider business.

At this senior level you build formal cross-group networks, provide technical thought leadership on projects that reach the wider organization, and need a grasp of the larger business.

You will present complex information and persuade a varied group of stakeholders. You are recognised as a subject matter expert and may lead others as technical lead, taking full responsibility for your own results and those of your team.

You will set schedules with your team and leadership, meet commitments, find readiness gaps and close them, and resolve priority conflicts or reset expectations. Senior staff support peers on technical problems, and junior members ask for help when needed to stay on track.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong test programs that support NPI, quality, and capability work.
  • Support qualification, characterization, and correlation of the products you develop.
  • Coach and train junior engineers so they can work independently.
  • Work with leadership to create the processes, procedures, guidelines, and specifications that drive execution and quality in the test group.
  • Build baseline software and hardware solutions that let the wider team or organization scale.
  • Estimate and report ROI inputs for test planning and test flow, keeping revenue, COGS, and capacity in view.
  • Run quality planning and hardware and software reviews for the test group.
  • Work with product engineering and operations so production ramp and release go smoothly.
  • Support production yield and customer return work to protect quality.
  • Serve as the test platform expert for the ATE equipment the group uses.
  • Mentor younger and less experienced engineers.
  • Help the tech and lab team with equipment calibration, maintenance, and planning when needed.
  • Manage third-party relationships and build good working ties with external technical teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • 8 to 12+ years working with automated test systems (ATE).
  • 8 to 12+ years of hands-on ATE test development for analog, digital, and mixed-signal products, with a strong focus on analog power product testing.
  • Programming experience in languages such as C++, BASIC, Perl, Python, and similar.
  • Experience testing IC chips or circuits and collecting data with standard tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Proficiency with ATE analog and digital instruments, PCB layout for parasitic reduction, and strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Hands-on experience debugging analog products that use serial bus interfaces.
  • Experience developing test hardware and test programs.

Conditions

The company is an equal opportunity employer, and some of its technology is subject to U.S. export controls that may require a government license before release.

Benefits

  • A competitive benefits package comes with the salary, and details are shared during the hiring process.
