Quality Engineer — Omnichannel Order Execution

Description

The company is a luxury group whose houses make jewelry, watches and high-end accessories. Each house keeps its own style and heritage while creating new designs.

The team builds and runs B2C omnichannel order processes on SAP, connected to outside commerce platforms through an event-driven architecture.

At the core is a Solace message broker that holds the Canonical Data Model, plus an SAP Cloud Platform Integration layer that converts and orchestrates data between SAP and external systems.

You will design and own the test automation framework for this integration landscape. The goal is more automated coverage, less manual testing and reliable CPI mappings as they change. The role is hands-on, and you will build the test automation capability from scratch.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain an automated test framework for the SAP CPI integration layer.
• Check that CPI mappings follow the Canonical Data Model contracts and keep working as changes land.
• Write automated regression and coverage tests that protect integration quality.
• Consume and validate the async APIs that Kong publishes for Solace pub/sub interfaces.
• Create and maintain automated API tests in Insomnia, and plug them into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Coordinate with the Test Automation Factory team so integration and backend SAP testing line up without overlap.
• Plan and run end-to-end test strategies, plans and scenarios across the integration landscape.
• Deliver early prototypes in iterative Agile cycles, and keep improving test automation practice.
• Help set quality standards and testing best practices for the order execution platform.

Requirements

• A solid grasp of test automation principles: coverage, maintainability and regression testing.
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Insomnia, Postman or similar.
• Familiarity with Kong and AsyncAPI specifications.
• An understanding of event-driven architectures and messaging platforms such as Solace, Kafka, RabbitMQ or IBM MQ.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows such as GitLab or GitHub.
• Exposure to SAP testing tools such as Tosca is advantageous.
• Functional knowledge of B2C sales processes is desirable, especially payments, order fulfillment, logistics, delivery and invoicing.
• Alternatively, you may come from SAP: strong SAP SD expertise as a key user, or QA or functional analysis experience within SAP systems, where SAP SD expertise is a strong advantage.
• You work on your own initiative, turning high-level quality goals into concrete test strategies and execution plans.
• You are comfortable in Agile teams that deliver iteratively and prototype quickly.
• You reason analytically and solve problems well, including when requirements are unclear or changing.
• You communicate clearly and work across engineering, testing and SAP teams.
• You are structured and methodical about quality assurance and continuous improvement.
• No specific degree is required. Strong logical and technical reasoning matters most. A scientific or technical background is preferred, but equivalent experience from work, self-study or personal projects also counts.
